Icon1 Help with information my this vintage Rolex.

Hi everyone, I recently got this Rolex and was wondering if anyone can help me out some information. The Serial number looks to be 51072, but I am not sure. The other side is marked "Registered Design" On top of that it looks like it says 1501.

The movement is numbered 36559 with a model number 1560. It is marked "Rolex Geneva Swiss 25 Fine Rubies".

Does this movement belong to this case? I am trying to figure out what year this watch is?

Yep, looks like a model number 1501 that was produced in the first quarter of 1960. A 1560 is the correct movement for that model.

That's called a butterfly rotor and those are getting hard to find. That watch may have more value as a movement donor for a period sports model.

Why don't you believe 1960?
