Beautiful pics Bas! GREAT running terrain
How’s the training regimen going after those shin splints?

Taking it fairly easy, no super long training runs, longest I did recently was a local trail marathon which went well.

Nice watch! For us we left Florida yesterday at 92F and landed in 44F and high winds. Was a cold walk to the car. Eventually spring will arrive

Thank you! I don’t know how you two do it traveling to extremes sometimes...sweating to freezing
44F IS Spring weather here

If you zoom in on that coffee cup it says, “Life is short, stay awake for it”
I had no idea that meant those 2 shots of espresso in the afternoon would have me finally falling sound asleep as the sun was rising & birds were chirping.
Lesson learned...stick w/my 1 cup per day.

For the weather it helps to have the comfort links

Oh wow it affects you that much? I could drink a large cup of strong coffee before bed and still be fast asleep within a minute

Based on a student’s recommendation, I tried Mt. Dew Code Red when it first came out. I was paying bills late at night...I could’ve saved the postage and walked the bills to their destination I was so wired.
Yep, old age will do that to you Bas! Lol

The long Memorial Day weekend is soon upon us, meaning Summer can’t be too far behind... What are some of your favorite activities that are made more special in the hazy days of Summer??

This weekend temps are supposed to hit the low 70’s so it will be a great time to kickstart some favorite activities:
1.) Walking the “chain of lakes”. Three small lakes to choose from each ranging from roughly 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 miles. Great activity w/people watching, bikes out, dogs w/owners etc. And yes, cars cruising the streets around them.
2.) Firing up the grill or joining friends at backyard fire pits to make S’mores.
3.) Boating on the bigger lakes.

Enjoy your long weekend everyone, whatever your plans may be!!

We had our 'long weekend ' last weekend andgot a lot of gardening and replanting done, but this weekend we're heading east to Winnipeg for a Danish conference. Leaving this am. Should be a fun time and hope the weather is good...

Thomas: how was Winnipeg?
I know it pretty well.........
It has changed so much over the years, though.

Hi Daniel
YWG was pretty good...again. Been there a few times over the years and stayed at the Fort Gary this time. The Danish conference went well, with Danish Ambassador present, arrangements were made to raise Dannebrog, the Danish flag along with Canada and provincial flag in front of City Hall with the mayor followed by lunch in City Hall. Some good food was enjoyed by all over the weekend. The trip to the zoo was very cool as was The Forks. Had been to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights before, so skipped it this time. Weather was pretty good for the most part but Spring as not yet sprung there.
It was a good get-away...even with meetings etal.
Thomas

Hello all we spent last week at our place on the Bruce Peninsula. One day we took a boat to Flower Pot Island to hike. A view from the back porch and another pointing from the island.

Thomas: Glad you had a good time in Wpg.
I lived there for a few years before I went north, and then back east to TO.

Yes it felt good to get back the winter was harsh and it was snowed in. It’s pretty far off the main roads.

Winters are Always harsh back east, in your neck of the woods. So Sorry for ya's..(unlike the PNW..).. but not funny for you folks.
Far off the main roads is not always a bad thing...(except wintertime)..
kudos for hanging tough

Spent most of it in Florida. But this spring in Ontario has been very cold. We had winter gear on in that photo. The temps dropped into the mid 40’s. We actually went back to warm up a week last month . Might go back very soon to see my parents.

Yes the drive is several hours through Mennonite farms. It’s a very nice and interesting drive. Lots of horse and buggies. Beautiful farms.

I should’ve thought of this ages ago!
My bumper sticker is for my daughter’s benefit, however I keep it on the car even when I’m driving. At 5’2” you can’t see my head from the rear- driving home in rush hour traffic the other day cars were parting ways for me as if the road was the Red Sea.
I loved it!!

It’s that time of year!! Autumn is my favorite season and while I enjoy the seasonal lattes & coffee creamer some companies have gone too far trying to ride the craze!! LOL
