Look like the 16710 Pepsi is beloved by many
I bought mine from a grey dealer a few years ago. The same dealer now offers me 20% of the cost I paid him for the watch. |

I just did something similar and wasn’t sure I was a 1-2 watch guy. I’d always loved the variety. But I decided to make a PM move. I had 8 steel chronographs (my preference) and I got offers to buy from some US resellers to give me an idea of what the market really was (not just asking prices on Chrono24). So I decided to do it in a couple steps. I sold the watches with the three highest values (relative to what I paid) and traded one watch towards a RG AP ROC (my grail watch - I’ve got a thread about my next move now). So now that I’m convinced I can live with 1-2 higher level watches I’m in the process of selling the other four so I can make my next move.
So you may want to get rid of 1/4 to 1/2 of the collection and get your PM piece. I found the first round of cuts was relatively easy. You may be done after that set of moves. If you’re happy and want to consolidate further just keep going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Nice collection, but more redundancy than I’d want. Clearing some out for more variety is exactly what I’d do. If you’re serious about the platinum Daytona, I get rid of both of your current SS. Highly unlikely you’ll ever wear them after getting the platinum.

I’d choose to sell the Tudor, the Air King and both Milgauss’. Best of luck with what you decide.

black Daytona, Tudor, blue Milgauss, Hulk
I would keep the Airking. Probably next year it will not be produced anymore. And you know, what this means to the price of this piece. |

If you're buying a PM Daytona, keep the LV, GMT, Submariner, sell all the rest.

Wait, he’s only offering you 20% of what you paid a few years ago?? Market has gone up significantly for that reference and you should be getting a premium now.

Great collection and good luck/congrats on the hunt for the next one. Nothing wrong with changing it up. I always say, I can’t own them all at once but I try to own them all once.

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm for the platinum daytona. I would get one in a heartbeat (if I could afford it). But, have you considered whether these watches will hold their value going forward? They seen to be the only PM watch that bucks the trend of reducing in value at the present time. You're giving up a lot to get it.

Just added a 116710LN, actually an impulse purchase due to a good deal. Figure I can always let it go when I want.

Sold the 16710, 16610 and BBN but got a 116710LN from an impulse purchase so these are as of now. 2 more need to go and I am hesitating between the 116710LN and either 116900 or Z-blue.IMG_4694.jpg

Air King, Blue Milgauss, black dial daytona if you need a heavy hitter to go (one daytona in, one out).

I wouldn't let any of the Daytona goes. They're the hardest to obtain. If you have a change of heart in future date, it will be much heartache and pain (read through this forumn countless of TRF-ers wishing they could have one on their wrist).
PM piece is something else. Once on your wrist you wont take it off. Good luck!! |
