That IWC is very very nice. Especially in the LPP version.

I would try to get a bracelet version though.

I'd definitely do the trade for the gold turbillion version. But since you clarified, at 43 mm it would be too large for me. If you want a chrono instead of a diver then it's not a bad watch by any stretch of the imagination. I really am not fond of the cutout/lumes placement on the Tudor Pelagos. The strap though stylish is a lot less useful to me. Bracelet would be the way to go imho as well.

Ok so as it stands, I am going to do it... I paid 3300$ for a new pelagos, and getting this one for the pelagos plus 800$ cash. I think it's a pretty good deal on my side... Is it??

They are not comparable watches so if you're going purely on aesthetics it's down to what you prefer. I've heard the bracelet on the Pelagos is very comfortable. I personally prefer the look of the IWC though. I'd do the trade.

It is not just about the money, it is about what you want to do. I have owned the IWC PP on a bracelet and I enjoyed it. No real feelings toward it so when a trade for another watch came along, off it went. I have had the Blue Pelagos since they came out and for the money, it might be the best dive watch I have ever owned. The blue is amazing especially a spring/summer watch. I personally would keep the Pelagos, get a better deal on the IWC and buy it without the trade. Keep both for a month or two and see. If the IWC really does it for you and you are not wearing the Pelagos then sell it. If the IWC does not work, move it. If they both work, figure out how to keep both. Good luck.

Those are my concerns and why I am don't feel complete with the move... I didn't think about moving the Pelagos before the offer.... I got the offer not because I wanted to sell the watch... The Pelagos is a much easier watch to sell too, which I have to consider...

I would not wear the pelagos if someone gave it to me for free. I would go IWC in this case. However, I would take a strong look at the spitfire line with inhouse movements.

Getting tougher and tougher... Which will hold its value better in your opinion? Which will be easier to move?

I think you’re right regarding the Pelagos being easier to move.

That said, I have had the LPP chrono, it’s stunning. If you get in at a good price you won’t lose much, if anything should you decide to resell.

One consideration though is the size of the LPP, it is a big 43mm imo.

Absolutely.

Something about that particular Pelagos blue that I never liked.

The IWC blue is amazing.

As much as I tried to justify it, the watch was just too big on me. It is also fairly thick, so it sat outside of my sleeve a lot of the time. I traded down to the Mark XVIII LPP, also beautiful, but not quite the chrono.

I 100% prefer bracelets over any alternative. Admittedly, I know very little about IWC. I do know that Tudor is a great watch. I wouldn’t. But again I’m bias and ignorant to IWC appeal or value.

The IWC is a very nice watch and worth the trade

You should not feel bad about this trade as the Tudor is no Rolex.

My opinion of either watch shouldn’t matter to you, so I’ll tell you this: yes it’s a fair trade

I don't know what exactly happened inside my head, but I am starting to lean towards keeping the Tudor... It is literally all I wanted when I got it. It compliments my Explorer very nicely as well. The reason is, I think if I had to choose between the two, the Tudor is a much, much better watch in my opinion... 70 power reserve, 500m WR, Ceramic Bezel, bracelet, titanium, rubber strap included, keeps +2 seconds per day... I really think it's the whole package and I will regret it in the near future. Also, I bought it new for 3300$ and new watches are always more fun for the owner:)

Update-
Turned it down... Even though I got even a better price on it... Suddenly, when I felt that I am going to give up on the Pelagos I didn't want to do it. I really am in love with it and it's is not going anywhere. Explorer and Pelagos stay.

This was a very good outcome. You actually came to a great conclusion on your own in spite of the majority vote saying to trade for the IWC. This was a close call and should now reaffirm your relationship with the watch. You've discovered what you really like about it and why.
Congrats on the Tudor pt2.

Exactly. Funny how I was actually about to do it and know I can't imagine doing that. The Pelagos definitely my jam. Being a pilot, I always appreciated IWC’s watches, but I think that's where it ends- appreciation. ThebPelagos is the practical choice for me. Can't have enough of him now, I am in love again:)
