I guess they are just cult followers.

So is the Daytona the ultimate Rolex fan boy cultish watch to quote your post??? I mean the Speedmaster is way more iconic and a much better value for the money.

Resale value is only great as long as you are certain that you will sell in the future.
Otherwise, it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is enjoyment of your time piece.

I like my Tudor (GMT) for me I like how it goes under most peoples radars straight away when out in bars etc, occasionally people will comment on it but usually they are wearing a Rolex or Omega etc.

Words cannot describe the satisfying feeling of my Tudor Submariner. It’s become my perfect everyday watch.

Hans Wilsdorf had a great idea in the Tudor lineup. Tudor was a great idea then in his day and now in ours. Tudor is a great product with a fantastic price-point. I'm a WIS and appreciate Tudor for what the founder of the "ENTIRE" Rolex company envisioned the Tudor brand to be.

Tudor overpriced? Can you buy an Oris, Omega, or Tag dive watch with in-house mechanical movement for the same price as a Tudor Black Bay?

Wish there was a Rolex equivalent with this color or if this was still available.

Need a blue watch in my life.

Tudor owners, always seem to be justifying their choice.
Not so, it seems, Rolex owners.

I've never met a Tudor owner, that doesn't feel the need to expain "they're made by Rolex, y'know".

Don't get too wrapped up in the "In-House" mantra. Oris, Omega, and Tag have all had some "in-house" movement watch offerings. In-House is far from "hand made" and may be an economy move on the part of watch companies. Are Rolex/Tudor "in-house" movements any more functional or accurate than some excellent watches with ETA or other movements?

Bottom line, buy what you like, enjoy what you buy, and enjoy them all.

Managed to look at a Tudor BB58 at a dealer on saturday and it really is superb, part of me was sceptical with all the hype on the net and you tube etc - without doubt the normal BB is to large for me the 58 literally is just right.

Buy what you like, I think the 58 will be ok for resale to.

That Tudor 'sub' is lovely.

It should surprise no one there are those who's shallowness runs across all brands.

This could be the best looking Submariner ever made. If they re-introduced this I would be all over it. Gorgeous watch my friend!

Wearing one today. My most accurate watch. It runs spot on. I like the heft of this watch and the bracelet. Lots of brands to choose from and Tudor is one that I like. If I wanted a Patek or any other I would get one.

So, was the founder of Rolex wrong with the vision and implementation of the Tudor brand? Do you know more than he did?

Great watches. Have several myself and they get as much wrist time and adoration as their wealthy Rolex brothers in the watch box. Mine are Black Bay, THC, Snowflake, 79270. I think the new BB chrono, original Ducati red dial chrono, new Ranger, BB GMT, BBs in general, blue dial THC to name a few are outrageously stunning, would like to have them all.

Most of the movements in Ball watches are heavily modified ETA movements. The resale on Ball watches is abysmal, although I’ve never sold a watch. Lots of good stuff out there on the secondary market and even thru AD’s on new and used Ball watches at significant discounts. The lume on Ball watches is second to one. Here is a shot of a few in my collection. Pick something that sings to you!

Nice collection except the Wenger and the Invicta no offence
I have had my eye on Ball for a while but like you said
resale is a killer

My wife has an Oris diver. It runs +1 MINUTE per day, even after a service.
Ball watches have unmatched lume (except for maybe LumTec), but I wouldn't buy a new one.
As far as Tag goes, there are no models that interest me. If I'm buying non-Rolex, I'm going used Omega, Breitling, or Tudor. I especially like the Iconaut and the new blue Pelagos.

Rather than buy a Tudor get yourself a new omega speedmaster professional Saphire sandwich. Best bang for your buck in a sports watch then save for a Rolex.

You cannot argue with Tudor at a price point, I love the black bay, I don't like the ceramic bezels on modern Rolex, but wanted a modern movement and a nice crisp bracelet. It's also a watch that basically your average person knows nothing about, I like the stealth.

I'll probably add an Polar Explorer 2 next, for weekend wear.

10 odd years ago a sub was essentially at Tudors price point (£2500ish) so all Rolex have done is filled a gap in the market as they have moved upscale from tool watch to more of a luxury brand (the old seamaster was around 2k too). Huge amount of jewellers have Tudors at 0% for £50 a month. That's everyman territory and a huge market, Rolex isn't stupid.

Look at most Tags and Oris, they are just nowhere close. I have owned the older Omega seamaster 300 and a Tag and neither had the build quality or movement.

Or better yet, get a used one and have it serviced by omega and save a fortune. It's a nice watch but the strap felt a bit delicate.
