Here is where not to go

Seiko service in Mahwah, NJ. I have a Seiko chrono. The rings around the pushers are stuck. Probably needs lubrication, but I don’t want to ruin the watch.

Simple job, Seiko Mahwah returned the watch, said nothing wrong, pushers still stuck. Not a difficult request.

I realize OP asked about GS, not S.

I'm confused--are you saying they didn't do the job/recommending them sarcastically?

They are no good

I asked them to fix a specific problem with my watch which I identified. They could not confirm the problem and they did not fix it. I would not let them wind my watch.

I would rather go to an AD and let them send it to Japan.

I've had about a dozen vintage Grand Seikos serviced by Michael Young in Hong Kong, with no issue. I imagine any good watchmaker should be able to do a movement overhaul.
