Many years ago, from our office on the 5th floor.
We saw a van, clip one of our cars, parked in the area below.
The van driver jumped out, armed with a pen and sheet of paper scribbled something, placed paper on windscreen of the damaged vehicle, and drove off.
The owner of the vehicle who'd hurried downstairs was confronted by the smashed headlight, damaged wing and bumper and...the note.

Our colleague brought 'the note' back to the office.....
It said; All you people watching, think I'm leaving my contact details - I'M NOT!

It's been years since my last incident. Happened in a grocery store parking lot where the driver left after hitting my parked car and the cops were called and they where actually able to bring the driver back based on the description and the fact they had the license plate number. Upon her arriving back the cop actually asked me what I wanted them to do because the driver did not admit hitting my car. Since the driver wouldn't initially comply I asked the cop to press charges given he originally gave me the choice. At that point the cop refused. He then said he may have given me that choice initially but really never intended to do so.

I later discovered that since the parking lot was considered private property the police were no longer responsible for doing anything. However since the grocery security person who actually notified me originally that I was hit on my way out the store captured the whole thing on video and then called the cops later was then able to convince the police to write up the incident later and thus my insurance agency was able to get her insurance to pay. By the way she also appeared as she had been drinking as well. I have no idea why the cop on the scene initially gave me a choice and then refused to do anything. I'm just glad the grocery security person was extremely helpful.

Well the saga has ended. I took my car into the dealer this AM as the new mirror arrived via overnight delivery at the dealer.
The mirror was replaced, ended up using the old skull cap and the light scratches on the door were buffed out and the area re-waxed. It all looks perfect once again.
Total cost was $490.

I cherish those few that aren't. More and more difficult to find, but well worth seeking them out.

Twice I have been angle-parked outside a local cafe and watched other drivers back into the car beside which they intended to angle-park. Both attempted to drive off but were apprehended by passers-by.
Parked in the same spot in the MX5, I had a guy in an all-fired hurry almost angle-park on top of me. Fortunately he must have actually looked behind at the last moment as he stopped an inch or two off my front. Just nonchalantly re-parked a couple of spaces further down and walked past like nothing happened. I was too shell-shocked to say a word. Don't go to that Cafe any more.
