Grandfather's Watch

The 16xx series had a pie pan dial, so the dial would be likely from a 16xxx Datejust. The "Swiss" part at the bottom looks like it's cut off by the rehaut. The magnification looks right, but the alignment of the cyclops to the date window looks off, and it almost looks like the date isn't sitting evenly in the date window. The case is completely wrong, looks to have some kind of 18K mark and also there's no lug holes. Crown is weird.

This is a strange combination.... if it is genuine it would be a mid to late 90s no holes 162xx, however, the dial is from a late 70s/early 80s model... and that bezel looks like its steel... someone basically rebuilt this watch with parts that they had lying around...

people think for some weird reason that the average grandad in the 60s with 4+ mouths to feed and only one income had somehow enough money left to buy a precious metal rolex watch.
