Munich Watch Show
At departure gate for Munich to attend the WTA Vintage and modern Rolex watch show as well as other fine watch makes. Arrival at Munich Airport (MUC) and on my way to the Arabella Sheraton Grand hotel near the center of Munich What a great surprise, my buddy and fellow WTA member Ken Specht is travelling in the same plane with me. Ken is the publisher of the monthly letter the "Specht-sheet", a lot of info there for price movements about Rolex watches, Pateks etc. It is Friday and soon the lobby will be full of Rolex lovers of the highest caliber both vintage and modern. This is the watch I am wearing during the show - tomorrow hopefully - something nice might be available for me to buy. Another buddy of mine, Eugene has just arrived. Two more Grand Collectors Paolo (left) from Italy and Theodore from Greece - He aquired the FIRST platinum Yacht Master when it was introduced a few years ago. So now is Friday night and just before the Saturday show already everyone is dealing at the lobby. Israelis, Greeks, Russians, Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Indians, English, Afgans, Turks, Americans Italians in great numbers, Germans, Spaniards, Portuguese, South Africans, Taiwanese etc etc etc. All this activity made me hungry...I am off with a couple I do business with, to the Tennis club for some great food from bella "Naboli". There we are, lovely Sabrina from Algiers, my good buddy Christo from Athens and Me showing-off my Heuer Military which I just bought from a Bulgarian contact...lol. After a totally great dinner it is time to go back and get ready for the show, on the average I walk 5 hours straight then some lunch and back to the trenches..lol On our floor we have a guard for obvious reasons. This is Herbert, ex-polizei officer looking after our dedicated floor at the Arabella. Oh brother...on the left is the view I have....and on the right is the view I wanted...Oh well I am so tired so I guess the view of the Sheraton Bogenhausen across the street will do. Entering the Show. My idea of a panoramic view. More watches all over the place, something for everyone is the true motto there. I have found at Ileana's table a very nice 2 year old Patek annual calendar in platinum...price around 20k euro I am happy with my inspection, I think I will buy it. Who said that Greeks don't get along with Turks..? Here are my two buddies from Instanbul Turkey Zafer and Shurd There is the organizer Herrr...Whats his name..?...lol..I forget now But behind him looking at me is my good friend Sam from England. I need to go to town and do some shopping Sunday tomorrow and everything will be closed Catholic Bavaria...they do observe the Sabbath. The center of Munich. My new watch..wow This is my buddy Eddie He bought a watch from me and forgot to pay..lol...here I am trying to remind him in a friendly way that payment is due ...IMMEDIATELY Interesting dials for a Rolex steel Daytona and 18k white gold Well ready to go to Athens, it is Sunday. On my way to the airport. In Athens I have to see my watchmaker Elias who was also at the show but we did not have the time to do some servicing and inspecting We will do all that in Athens This is Elias And now it is time to come back home to Florida I had a great time for a week and looking forward for the December show. Also I hope I will winn this Ferrari on display at the airport Boarding now and in a few hours I will be back to the old U.S. of A. I got to go and vote for BOB...forgot all about that. |

This thread is amazing, Anastasios. But forgive me, I can't take it all in.
Please explain what I have just read. These people are all grey dealers? All watches come with B&P's? Is it an annual thing? I love the AP's. You let someone have a watch without paying...??!! Congratulations on the PP.
