Wow nice catch. I don’t get it, why did he waste his time making this post? Had a change of heart? Interesting

So this was a confession of sorts?

Good on you for coming clean (with encouragement or otherwise), but I still stand by my prior comments.

Everyone's watch has gone up because....flipper :). I wish I don't have to wait 5 years for a DaytonaC in black, but it is what it is... But, my other SS has gone up in value as well...oh well. no complaints...

I'm sure Rolex thank the flippers too. They can't keep up with the demand....

Are you seriously suggesting an AD can lose its Rolex line because their customers flip?

Don’t worry about it man. Small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. You’re not a bad person for entertaining making a quick 5 grand. This is America.

But yes, ADs do not want customers flipping new watches.

Just imagine if no one was flipping DaytonaC at 19K and Rolex has stop or slow production on them? Should I say 100K for DaytonaC? This might benefit OP intention for starting this thread :)

This reminds me of a joke I once saw Sam Kinison tell. It must have been at a time when Keith Richards was doing a public service announcement about drug abuse. It goes like this:
Sam: "Keith Richards says, 'don't do drugs.' Keith Richards says, 'don't do drugs.' (screaming) KEITH RICHARDS SAYS 'DON'T DO DRUGS?' We can't do drugs! Because you f-in' did them all."

For some reason the OP's original post and follow up reminds me of that joke.

OP - you made it abundantly clear flipping is bad, but could you elaborate specifically on the reasons given by your AD as to why that is?

too many typos on my phone to provide a long reply. I have a lot to say on this topic and on your responses. I’m new here obviously, and not trying to hide that. Also not trying to hide getting busted by my AD, if I was I wouldn’t have posted this. I did post this for a specific group of people, those that “get the call” and want to make a quick buck or choose to sell quickly like I did. I’m impressed by the responses, but that just strengthens my reasoning for posting. And thanks GB-man for your positive comments. I have two older brothers and haven’t been beaten up this badly since I was young and growing up. Not concerned about getting beaten up now, just hoping I can positively influence someone to not make the mistake I made. As for unintended consequences, do you think this situation would help or hurt the career of the sales person making the sale?

By the way, I like my Daytona.

Oh, hypocrisy they name is Coop13!

Still you came clean but you are not your AD's keeper and Rolex too are very big boys and can handle themselves and can change this market at any time, so no way am I letting them off the hook and trying to put this shambles on us, the customer.

These are all things to consider.
Every action we take matters. And this is the reason I posted this. I’m blown away so far by the replies I’ve seen

Everyone takes it out on subordinates, Rolex on ADs, AD managers on sales staff, staff on customers. It's the circle of watch hate, when supply is so low. So it's everyman for himself and cover your hide. Never apologise, never regret, never look back.

Nah

Flipper vs Gray dealer

Flipper is a customer who’s had a change of heart...no harm in moving on.

Gray dealer purchases with intent to resell for profit as the market demands.

Then there is the opportunist somewhere in between, the deal is too good to pass up...perhaps this is where the OP falls?

Probably half of these boards have experienced some flippage.

This is a crazy rare example of the original post having completely two different meanings based on 1 missing piece of info.

OP, it’s now clear to me what your OP is about, but man, if you’d just thrown in a line about what happened with you and your AD it all would have made sense, and you wouldn’t have taken the beat down.

Wow, what a turn.

I imagine you’re right. But it is personal. People are affected. Also, we are creating this.

And what can they do? You bought it now you can do whatever you want.

Ok they can say they won’t sell to you anymore meh!!!

I am not gonna lie I might end a relation with an AD for a score of 5-6k. I can easily start a new one and use that money for the first purchase.

Why stop there? While were at it, let’s go ahead and and try to stop people from flipping Real Estate, Cars, and Stocks as well! All of this greedy profiteering has caused me so much anguish...it’s just not fair!
