I hadn’t noticed that, but it does look like R. I wonder if the 5524g is discontinued?

thats what we are speculating on in the other thread. My guess is now that its not a standalone reference since there is an R, the run will be shorter than it would have been otherwise. Not discontinued as of now though AFAIK.

Just to be sure John, we’ll need to see the rest of the ensemble you intend pairing it with. You know, the shoes, handbag, and frock, for when you dress up as Sandra at the weekends. Hehe...

37.55mm ladies.....

I know they can't stuff that movement into a delicate feminine watch, but that would dwarf the wrist of any slender handed woman. It's disappointing that Patek is following the fashion trend set by michael kors.

the biggest mistake is calling it "ladies" vs midsize or some other label that is gender neutral. Now its pretty much killed the demand from guys who cant pull off a 42mm. They seriously won't buy it if its in the ladies collection.

Yes a stupid misstep. It is the same size as a vintage daytona!

I don't see why patek would make a short run of the G though. They released the 5164r and didnt cut the 5164A...

Agreed! 37.5 would actually be a great size for my wrist more than a 42...

That said, the bright side might be that I can say screw what others think and there won't be a waitlist (possibly a generous discount too) because it's a ladies reference!

On the waitlist - possibly, possibility not. If this really is being produced for ladies, production numbers could be very small.

Yeah, and they also call it a Calatrava. The 5524 has a bit of an identity crisis!

Here I was thinking that it was a perfect size for my 6.3 inch wrist. Then I see it described as a ladies model....

Does the 5524G have a waitlist? I've been asked if I'd be interested in the one they just received by my AD and I don't consider myself a top customer.

Agree with the ladies error, should have made it 38mm and a mid-size, I'm sure far more men will want this than ladies... well one day they will be men.

Guys with small wrist are not going to like this being described as "ladies" watch.

Completely correct. There are several guys wearing the midsize yacht master with confidence and style. Absolutely the wrong branding for this one.
