My brother and I have had good service from Chateau d'Ivoire, generally 1 month wait for SS at least within the last year (my brother got a no date Sub in 3 weeks, my GMT-LN was bought off the shelf but that was 2 years ago). Never tried Bijouterie Italienne but worth the try. Ivoire also did a very nice job converting my Explorer from Mk1 to MkII.

Thanks. I believe it’s recent that Birks is an AD (again).

A newer sub comes up for sale used about once a week. new, barely used, safe queens ect ect

Canadian site as mentioned earlier.

Much cheaper than one of those trusted sellers the americans are mentioning.

I buy all my Rolex’s new from Chateau. I have a great relationship with them and have never doubted them. I have also but numerous other brands they carry like Panerai.
As far as the Ottawa AD, don’t waste your time. He is a goof, actually, a slimy goof. The kind that will charge you over retail for the watch, and not care. This is an AD for Rolex. What a shame.
Anyway, good luck. An offer to put a deposit may be what will give you credibility in this crazy watch game.

Nobody takin deposits anymore in Montreal! I’ve tried. They know there SS watches are going to big buyers or bundled so why commit to one time buyers y taking a deposit

They used to ask for deposits though. Game has changed

Buying from DSW would be a heck of a lot more with an additional 20% tacked on top. Nothing against DSW, but just getting a little tired of seeing the same generic advice on the boards that is not one-size-fits-all especially when people live outside of the US (*gasp* there are members on TRF who live outside of the US.)

OP, call around and get on a few lists. They're attainable with a short wait in most of the country.
My suggestion is to try canadawatchcollector as well.

Are you kidding? I live in Vancouver and have been looking for an SD43 and a sub with date for the past two months. All the AD said there is no waitlist on those SS models. The boutique told me the waitlist for Sub with date is 1 year long and is now closed and the SD43 is "first come first serve". The boutique told me to call them every few weeks on the SD43 which I did and some of them got annoyed (one lady said last one in was early March and Nov, the other lady said last one in was Dec...... don't know if they are just BSing). I have tried calling Victoria as well, no luck.

Ps. I am in the same boat as OP, first time buying Rolex and want to buy it from an AD. Not mainly because of the price but I feel safer as I'm not too familiar with the grey market.
