I don't think it's a terrible looking watch but I'm having trouble getting past that steel first link at the end of the strap. That is just odd looking. The dial of the watch looks great and the hinged bezel lock is kind of a neat conversation piece. Not planning on getting one but it has grown on me I have to admit.

I agree that the piece is different and the appeal is quite stricking just like my reaction to the Omega Ploprof when I first saw it. Just like the Ploprof, I believe that I would eventually get this piece for I am truly a fan of Horology and pieces like these even if it is a re issue of a never releases prototype would be an asset to any watch fans collection. I dont wear my Ploprof as a daily beater but just like my other pieces in rotation, I think this piece is something I will really set my sights on. I just hope it doesnt have the issue with the datewheel like my Tudor GMT.

The Ploprof looks at least modern, big and unqiue.

This Tudor is just old and ugly

I'm probably going to check it out in the metal when it drops in july, unless its one of those things where they dont have any stock in any of the stores type of thing.

i have a feeling AD's are going to sell it like a nudie mag. you have to go into a special area of the store, then they put it in a paper bag and let you leave out a side door so no one sees what you just did.

Its so scandalous im actually intrigued. And i feel bad for kind of liking it now, sort of feeling guilty and dirty.

This watch doesn't appeal to me at all, not in the least. I'm sure it'll appeal to a few though

Interestingly this is sort of how it transpired when I collected my white DaytonaC.

I hear the secret project name that it was developed under is Code 11:58

Nothing to do with Code 11:59 from AP by the way

Am I missing some historical reason for putting a dive watch on a leather strap? Seems like something along the lines of an oysterflex-style strap would make more sense.

Another indication that high end watches these days are more jewelry pieces than tools, despite the belief of otherwise some WIS still hold.

It should have been put on a rubber tropic strap just like the original. The leather part of the strap is silly but the rest of the watch is growing on me.

All Tudor needed to do was replace the end links with normal solid ones and shorten the lugs. Then, we would have had a winner.

We need a like button for post #252.

If they evolve this watch over the next few years... would u think this specific watch be a collectible?

Thank you for posting.

The second video revealed a way to modify the 'bund' strap on the S/G chrono; I think I may be in love.

Yep . . . Tudor will make it for a few years and it’ll be the watch that’s always in the AD case that everyone looks at but no one buys. Tudor will then discontinue it, the remaining pieces will be gobbled up, and prices will skyrocket a year later on the grey market. Then 10 years will go by, Tudor will remake the watch and it’ll be a top seller!

Stopped by one of the loval malls yesterday... they said they were only allowed to order 1 P-01. I wonder if this is across the board. Also they mentioned not every tudor dealer is given the option of 1
