Tudor Black PVD Coating

Hello,
New to the site but very happy to join. I'm looking for an all black watch with leather strap and the Tudor Black Bay seems like a great fit.
I'm wondering about how the PVD coating wears? Does anyone have insight on if it scratches easily or anything negative about the coating?
Thanks in advance.

Wore mine on the strap for strap for first 6 months. Switched to the PVD bracelet about 4 months ago and I don’t have any scratches, not even on the clasp back. The coating is very durable. I’m impressed. ✊

For those who are still interested in knowing the quality of the coating, I'm actually impress with it. Yesterday I knocked onto the sharp edge of the ladder, there seems to be a scratch that shows the stainless steel part of the bezel. Went home and tried cleaning it with the polishing cloth, lo and behold, the "scratch mark" is gone. Guess the pvd coating is tougher than the ladder.

Cheers

My experience with PVD is that it will fade overtime and get a grey lived in look that depending on the watch look better than a new one. I own the PVD Tudor Black Bay and have had no issues with marks or fading to this point. It is a cool watch and I can recommend it. I know it will eventually scratch or fade and I am good with it.

I think it depends on how you wear your watches. I am very cautious with my watches. I make sure I don't wear them when I am doing any activity where they could get scratched. That's what my G Shock is for. Some people do yard work and even exercise with them on! Just depends on active you are going to be with it.

Interesting how I came across this thread today as I’m getting ready to go pick up a Tudor BB dark. I’m planning on wearing it as a daily beater around my warehouse. Looking for something tough, reliable and I love the all black look. I think I’ll be pulling the trigger on it.

I copied these pics a while ago form a for sale advert. This watch has clearly had a hard time and the price of $2.5k reflected it.

It looks like it was attacked by an ice pick.

Had one.. it’s a total brick! Love it at first but just wears way to thick for my taste.
