Dress watch dilemma

Greetings all

I've sold most of my watches preferring to just hold a few keepers. 116610LV ceramic Submariner, 16610 non ceramic Submariner, Jaeger Le Coultre Master Hometime.

I've found myself once again with more money than sense and have convinced myself that I need a new dress watch.

I'm torn between an FP Journe Chronometre Bleu, FP Journe Chronometre Souverain A Lang & Sohne 1, Jaeger Le Coultre Master Perpetual Calender.

They all look amazing and represent everything I'd want in a grail dress watch.

All have extortionate servicing costs but I'm not concerned because I only intend to service them every 5-6 years.

Which would you choose and why? Bear in mind my existing watches.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I should have posted this in the non-Rolex forums.

In any case, I love Rolexes but I also love many other brands and expected many here would too.

Lange 1 for me, preferably the Moonphase. The Souverain is quite nice too and classy, the Blueu is too whimsical.

I'd go JLC among your choices, but a PC isn't what I'd be looking for in a rarely worn dress watch. Simple, hand wound, time only for me.

That JLC is too busy for a dress watch, I'd get a headache trying to tell the time!!!

If you wear a lot of black a gray suits the CB may not fit great in my opinion. Otherwise that would probably be my first pick.
The other Journe and Lange are close contenders. I like them both and I would say Lange for the gold color.

The JLC is a fine piece but a bit too busy.

Definitely the Lange 1.

But you need a better pic than that Jomashop stock photo.

Hi Gary

I have a Lange 1 Moonphase and it is an amazing piece, If I were you I would choose a yellow/rose gold timepiece. My suggestion would be any Patek Philippe Calatrava or any Lange (also check out H Moser). Here are some pictures to help in general on my 6.5" wrist.

Hope this helps and keep us posted.

Cheers
Anuj

1.What color is the majority of your "dress" wardrobe?
- If blue and mostly "dress casual" go with the blue FPJ.
2. If truly "dress" go with gold AL&S or Patek (I'm thinking dark suits or tux).
- The JLC is lovely but a bit busy.
3. If it's "dress casual" (and you have mostly black/grey wardrobe) go with 2nd FPJ or SS Patek.

Styling men is so much fun!

Seeing as this is a Rolex forum, have you at least contemplated the new Cellini line? The Cellini Dual Time WG/ white dial would hit the spot for me. That said for a dress watch I do love a pretty moonphase! Here is IWC's offer.

You need a old watch with no complications.

One that nobody else has.

Not too big...not too small.

Must be gold, must be thin and on a strap.

37.5mm is perfect.

A birthdate watch.

FPJ Souverain is the one I'd pick out of those.

Thanks everyone. As you've all said they are all amazing watches. Very well made with great attention to detail.

I haven't been down the Cellini route to be honest probably because Rolex doesn't market them very well. I'm sure they're good watches but I'm not drawn to them.

I'll post an incoming once I've decided. Thanks for you input.

No one has mentioned the JLC yet. I happen to like the JLC PC and would certainly include that in the mix.
