What do you think

If your only AP is the 44 titanium(pic on the right)would it be to redundant to get the 42mm(pic on the left)? The 44 to me has that nice kick around casual fell to it where the 42mm is that with a bit of pizazz added.

I had the 15400 Royal Oak but it didn't get the wrist time it deserved, so I sold it. It may come around again but I just feel that AP is better off on a rubber strap for me at this time.

I wouldn't say adding the 42 would be redundant, given the many differences.

It's smaller and will wear that way. It has a different bezel, dial layout and colour scheme. I can see the 42 working better with a suit or blazer.

Both are quite handsome

The left is a transition model. Wait for the new 42s and then decide.

I have a 42 too and I’ve been wanting to add a 44mm too for some time. Just get them in different material for more contrast.

Indeed, very curious! As much as I like the 44 design, they are a tad bigger than I'd ideally wear and if AP came out with something similar but at 42, it would get my attention. The 'transition' one last year didn't cut it for me, just not as nice a design as the 44.

This will sound strange...but i bet they would be different enough to me that i would end up vastly preferring the wearability and/or wrist presence of one vs the other and wish the other was more like my preference...there isnt enough of a difference that i would say ‘oh, well they are just both totally different watches’ and like them each for their thing (e.g 15202 and ROO - obviously, would be no comparison between those two to me and i’d love them both for different reasons).

I don't like the hands and blue details on pushers, but proportions on this 42 are great... with the new chrono they will probably ruin that...

I don’t think it’s redundant at all. They wear differently, and have a lot of visual differences as well. I do prefer the sub-dial layout on that new 42. For some reason the sub dials at 6-9-12 always bugged me visually.

I would second waiting a few months to see if the new 42’s will be released. Hoping they do away with the blue accents on the crown and pushers. Definitely not a fan of that.

I actually held the 42mm titanium in my hands I think it's actually very handsome. I much prefer the it over the 44mm would like more color option though
