Icon9 Rolex Skydweller Bezel

Hello Everyone,

I’ve owned the SD for 4 Months now and I’m starting to worry a bit. I wear this watch quite often but am actually very careful with it. I have bumped into things but not very much and not very strong. I’ve noticed on 2 parts of the fluted bezel that it seems to have chipped off a bit. Is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else?

It's on your wrist...…… it's going to bump into things.

Some wear and tear is inevitable. Buy a second one with a white dial then alternate with your outfit. It will spread the load between two pieces :)

It's called normal wear. Just enjoy it and don't worry.

It's white gold. I don't think it will have chipped so much as flattened. Gold does that. And it's going to keep doing it for as long as you wear and enjoy your watch. So enjoy it :)

That would bother me. Those are chips from bumping into hard surfaces obviously. Sell the watch and get a new one maybe :)

Accept it as part of normal wear and tear or you'll drive yourself to distraction. Same as a new car. Scratches happen. Part of life.

Totally normal, and will not cause any concern about usability. Keep on wearing her and enjoying your time.

Maybe it’s too big for your wrist if getting bumped a lot. Either need more wrist awareness with this size of watch or just get used to wear and tear.

My, how quickly we went from a damaged watch to the mortality of man. That might be a new record...even for TRF.

Two ways to keep your watch pristine:

1) Never wear it and lock it up in the safe for eternity.

2) Bubble-wrap your watch when it is on your wrist.

Bumps and scratches are going to happen despite your best efforts to avoid them.

As pointed out, not chipped but slightly flattened as its gold and not hard to do.

I would not have even been able to see them had you not circled it in a pic. Tiny mars like that are inevitable and wouldn’t give them a second thought.

Wear and enjoy.

Normal wear. That's gonna happen with soft gold. Even my sub bezel had things like that happen.

Enjoy wearing it with less worry and down the road you can get someone to machine it or just pay $900 at RSC service for a new one.

When you bump your watch against things, like a door jamb, it may seem like a minor bump, but the area is very small. So the force per square inch is more than you think and it just put a little ding in the metal. White gold, stainless, it all gets dinged. As careful as you think you are, it just happens. If you wear it, it will get dinged. The first one hurts, but the next one you just accept.

I just cannot understand how few problems in live you must have to care about scratches in a watch, really . How can you even be bothered. Man talking scratches in a watch, discussing their small LV bags, or their man bun , or keeping their furniture wrapped in plastic...Damn I am getting old. Live is too short for that kind of problems...
