1 Daytona, 1 GMT, 1 Sub
Hey guys, I’m considering getting a GMT to add to my current Sub and Daytona. But in thinking about it, I got really curious on peoples’ preferences on these three models. So here’s my question:
If you could have a 3 part collection consisting of one Daytona, one GMT, and one Submariner, which models would you get? All newest models? All vintage models? A mixture? 114060, 16710, 16520 white? Or maybe 116610LV, 116710BLNR, 116500 white? Or possibly 14060M, 126710BLRO, 116520 black? Hopefully you get my point... Curious to hear your guys’ thoughts! Oh, and anyone who actually has these three, photos always welcome. |

I currently have a 116618LB and 116500LN (white). I used to have a 116710BLNR but would pick the latest version on jubilee or 126710BLRO.
When I used to own the BLNR and 6-digit bluesy, I found they were a little too similar for my liking (case shape, oyster bracelet, dial size) and opted for more variety. |

I think GMT and Sub look v similar if you buy the same gen case model. Just an extra hand and a diff bezel out the parts bin with some polishing! Maybe mix up with diff brand or model?

It’s sort of cheating... but I’m aiming towards
116500 white, BLNR oyster and Tudor BB58 As others have said the GMT oyster and sub are similar, having said that imo GMT oyster > than the rest.

1 Daytona, 1 GMT, 1 Sub
My beef with the 116500 (and, tbh, with most modern Daytonas) is all that print on the dial, when knowing full well that other Daytonas exist (consider the older ones from the 60s/70s).
The classic Daytona is a Paul Newman. Sign me up for a 6241, if I was ever fortunate to get the money. GMT, has to be the 126710BLRO. The updates are thoughtful and utilitarian from previous 4-digit and 5-digit ones. Submariner... tough one. Maybe something in the middle between the expensive vintage and robust modern. How about a 1680, red print? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

16710 is the ultimate GMT. 16610LV is the ultimate Sub. White dial Daytona ices that cake very nicely I'd say.

I have a 116710BLNR, 116520 white and a SD43. I flipped my 116610LN because I liked my 126600 more and did not wear the sub. It is true the sub and GMT are much alike also the SD is an XL version of the sub.
Back to your question. My favourite line up would be all modern pieces. A no date SubC, 126710 BLRO and a 116500 LN white. |

The trio you’re choosing is really awesome . I like new models but if I have to pick a vintage I would consider the GMT.

- 1 choice: a very vintage solution with Gmt 1675, Submariner 5513 and a manual Daytona - 2 choice: a 16700/16710 (i prefer 16700) as Gmt, Sub 14060M o 16610LV and Daytona 16520 - 3 choice: new deal solution with 126710BLRO, 116610LV and Daytona 116500LN Alternatively on all three examples, Sea Dweller 1665 or 16600 for 1 and 2, Deepsea 126660 for case 3 in sostitution of Submariner |

I am in the same position, I have the date sub and the white Daytona but thinking of adding the 126710blro as I think that would be the perfect 3 watches for me and the Pepsi on jubilee has enough differences to be very different to the sub. I had a Batman on oyster at the same time as my sub but felt these were to similar. I also have a ym 116622 but don’t wear it very much: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A white dial Daytona-C, a Hulk and either the Pepsi-C or Batman on the Jubilee bracelet. Three very unique and distinctive watches. Mixing colors and bracelets. These watches could work for a daily mix.

I’d go:
SubC - no date required on my diver. DaytonaC white - more legible dial and a pop of color Blro - jubilee bracelet sets it apart and red blue bezel is the way Wilsdorf intended. |

I current have a 116500 and 116718. Been thinking about adding a 116610lv to complete a land, sea, air collection. I feel like that would be a perfect trio. So far I’ve shown restraint

Cool thread. I’m hoping to add a white dial Daytona to these two this year. While not exactly what you asked, I will occasionally swap my Explorer II with my brother’s 114060.

So, 116500LN white, 116710BLNR, and 116600 would be my pick.

1 Daytona, 1 GMT, 1 Sub
The land, air, and sea collection is a great way to go.
Its really all anyone would need. I chose... Hulk, but think the SD43 would be more diverse. D-500 White Batman |
