Crystal + diamonds

How many of your crystals have been scratched by a SO’s diamond(s)? My fiancé has a bracelet with very small diamonds in it and when she went to help roll up my sleeve the other night, it swiped right across my crystal leaving a small vertical hairline near the 10 min minute marker. This is now the second (two different watches) time brushing up against her has scratched the crystal!!

I don’t mind scratches on the bracelet but the crystal drive me nuts! Will probably live with it until next service as unfortunately this seems an all too common occurrence!

RIGHT HERE!!! First, I ALWAYS wear a watch to bed...the only time I don’t wear one is in the shower. With that being said, I just about died when only a few months after I purchased my first Rolex (Original Kermit, M series in 2008), I woke up and there was a HUGE scratch across the entire face of the watch. Worst day ever and longest 3 months of my life!!!

I now sleep on the other side of the bed, watch facing AWAY!!!!!!

And yes, I always could take it off at night but I’d feel naked without one on. I’ve worn a watch every day of my life since I was about 8 years old.

Cubic zirconia. Problem solved. LOL

In all seriousness, I agree that scratches on the bracelet and case are okay. But the bezel and crystal would drive me nuts. But a scratch to either wouldn’t stop me from enjoying the watch any. Chalk it up to a battle scar adding “character.”
