Squale watches

Does anyone have any thoughts on these watches. They use ETA movements and they are a homage watch to the submariner. I was thinking of picking one up for work.

Hi

I do not know if it is my computer, but on this page http://www.squale.ch/sub_watch/squal....php?lingua=2# the photo of the watch is terrible, if they cant even get a good photo on their site it would worry me about buying a watch from them.

They are nice. I'd go Steinhart though. Similar price range, slightly better watch.

Well I took the plunge & ordered a Squale with a blue sunray dial & blue bezel. I'll post some pics & a review soon.

My Squale 1545BR arrived today. So far I like what I see. I'll wear it for a few days & report back. Here's a quick wrist shot taken with my IPhone 4S.

It looks great. Usually you just see the black and root beer ones.

That looks great! I'm curious to see what you think. My Rolex is the anomaly in my collection. I usually have a few like this around. I think Squale is a lot of bang for the buck. I sold mine a while back to fund a different watch and found it super easy to sell to. I had a root beer. It's not the best pic, sorry.

So far I've only wore it for one day to work. It's great to look at & the ETA movement so far has been spot on.

I have two Squale in my collection and I've found them to be very fine watches and spot on accurate time keepers. They're not Rolex or Omega obviously but at their price range they are an excellent choice.

I totally agree. I'm probably going to add a Root Beer to my collection. For the price you get a damn fine watch, not a rolex but a great everyday watch with good workhorse ETA 2824-2 movement that any good watchmaker can service without breaking the bank and you don't have to have a heart attack if you bang it around.

i used to really want a squale becuz i used to watch videos from TGV on youtube and i really wanted a rolex sub. they were sold out of the model i wanted at the time so i couldnt buy one and just waited. some time later my wife got me a ceramic sub date as gift (hands down the best gift ever). when i think back about it now, i think it was silly of me how i wanted a squale so bad because it looked like a submariner but the watch i really wanted was the rolex sub. im glad i didnt buy it because if i did it wouldve just sat in a drawer when i got the rolex and watches arent meant to sit in drawers. im not tryna bad mouth squales or anything. i just wanted to share my experience with almost buying one. i still think they are really nice watches (probably because they are based off the sub and i like the sub). I think as long as you will wear them and enjoy them then thats reason enough to buy a watch.

Lots of people ask me why I wear different watches when I own 3 Rolex. I tell them can you eat steak every single day for the rest of your life. I love my Rolex watches but I'll wear my other watches during working hours & my Rolex for after work & weekends. Once I retire next year my Rolex watches will see more wrist time.
