No Hang Tag

about to buy an Explorer II from a trusted seller. it's a complete set except for the hang tag with the serial number. How big of deal is not having the one tag.

It's not a big deal. You wear the watch not the hang tag. If you absolutely need the whole set then move on. If you love the watch get the watch. Happy hunting.

I always keep the hang tag and throw the watch away. Hang tags are awesome!

If tag not there, no big deal. But if warranty not there, then that's a different story.

Are you saying you want to wear a hang tag with the watch? Who does this?

No Hang Tag

It would not deter me if I found a great timepiece, however, I do prefer to purchase full sets including the hang tag.

Not a huge deal but the tags will retain better value if you keep the watch around. I just throw it in the box with the papers and stuff.

Isn’t hang tags part of a “complete set”?

Ahh, that's a great idea. I've been looking for something to hold the box cushions down anyway.

Apparently not in my case since I keep throwing the watches away. Otherwise, yes.

It means nothing. Many sets are missing hang tags.

Perhaps. Depends who you ask. The overwhelming majority of DavidSWs BNIB watches do not come with the serial handtag but only the COSC green one ...

Hangtags are cool, but weren't you suppose to buy the watch?

l always think rolex should give us a ceramic hang tag for every PM pieces. makes it more distinguished and collectible.

Many Grays will sell without the tiny white hang tag and still list them as complete sets.

As long as it has

1) Green Rolex Box
2) All Booklets
3) Warranty card
4) Green tag

That to me would be considered a complete set. Put it this way your not going to lose any money if you don't have that white hang tag.

Many ADs are no longer including the white hang tag. No big deal.

I didn't get a hangtag when I bought my first Rolex, just a shopping bag and the saleslady's number.

What if the AD decides to keep that little white plastic tag? Are you going to cancel the deal and walk out? Especially if it is a SS Daytona or BLRO??

wouldn't bother me unless I was buying a FULL SET in order to flip it to a collector... otherwise, no big deal as many have said my friend :)

Unfortunately a “full set” is just that. The tags mean nothing to me but my last three new Rolex purchases from our trusted sellers came with everything so I am sure both tags are required to be a full set. If you ever do want to trade it for another watch, there might be a price penalty without that tag. I lost $500 on a 20 year old watch with everything (boxes, tags books, etc) except the expired warranty card. I never imagined this would matter as the watch itself was immaculate and freshly serviced.

No issue with me. Don't care and have never lost any money by not having a hang tag.
