Time for another flashlight thread

It's been a year or more since we've done one (that I've noticed) and unlike watches, flashlights are easy to obtain and rather inexpensive (comparatively).

I've become a fan of "Olight" which is a Chinese brand sold world-wide, but in the USA they are pretty good about forcing retailers to limit discounts, which helps to prop up resale values if you are, like me, fickle.

These are my two most recent purchases. The blue Baton II was purchased last year... I bought the same model in both blue and black colors, since I couldn't really tell much from pictures, and figuring that I could easily sell the one that I preferred less on eBay. That was true, although it did not bring the money that I thought it would. Oh well. Lesson learned. Limited edition doesn't always mean good prices. You'd think I'd have learned that from owning Omega watches, but that's another thread.

The newest one is the red Baton III, which is as tiny as it looks, but still has 1200 lumens, which is pretty awesome. It is not a shiny finish like the blue one, rather matte, of which the slightly not-sharp photos didn't help. Still, it's neat. The red one has the same barrel size, but is almost half as long as the blue one. Both are rechargeable, with a magnetic base. They have a strobe feature, multiple light levels from "moonlight" to their highest setting, and the push switch has an imbedded LED that tells you the state of the battery when on.

I bought an Olight Javelot because of one of the previous flashlight threads. It's still doing good (use it every night at work). Lost my baton while riding around on an atv, I'll pick up another one soon. I have a few older surefire lights too but they don't get much use anymore.

Lupine LED 5000 Lumens

German Lupine 5000 Lumen LED Flashlight with zero step-down as it burns.. Note these are genuine lumens calculated in a light sphere and not over inflated "Chinese Lumens" that are a total joke..

Holy crap. I bought my Fenix maybe 5 years ago when 800-900 lumens on a portable light was considered pretty substantial. It looks like things have really taken off since then?!?!

Surefire Arc28C HID Flashlight USD$3000.00

Extremely rare as less then 100 of these were ever made due to high cost of manufacture and low sales rate.... 4500 HID Lumens zero step down and 90 minute run time...

Fenix make good stuff. I've bought half a dozen of their CL30R lanterns.
Recharchgeable, variable output, 650 lumens and very well made.

Surefire M6 HID Lamp BNIB Unused

here is one of many Surefire in my meager collection of torches that is BNIB and over 20+ years old..... 350 Lumens was unheard of at this time and so was the price...

Yep. Great light, and now vintage. I 'lost' mine and an acquaintance gifted me one of his half-dozen. Looks NIB; still waiting for some honest wear on it. He also gave me a couple of bulbs for it, and a new lens cover.

Yes, I must admit Jim, I was amazed at the engineering of this little torch, it's just one of this things that you know will just keep working forever. I also got a couple of bulbs extra but have never needed on yet.

Surefire Hellfighter5 HID

Only but a handful of these ever made it to the market forsale from Surefire. This was a combat light for heavy artillery equipment. Well I am quite thrilled to have snagged me one of these..

In a review they usually switch it on so either it was too heavy to hold up or the extension cord wasn’t long enough?

"DYNAMIC DUO" Surefire Big Guns

These are both portable "Handheld" Flame throwing beats by Surefire that very very few of either was ever made for public consumption. They did not even come with the charger, cases, etc etc as all were extras and options.. Battey packs were USD$1200.00 a pop..
