Patek Philippe Amagnetic 3417

Hi everyone,

I'm very interested in the Amagnetic 3417 and I'm looking to learn more about it. I've heard that there is a complete guide to the reference by mstanga but I can't seem to find it anywhere online. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks!

Supposedly mstanga wrote several books including the 3417, 3700 and a few others.
There was a thread here a few years back for some form of group order for these books. If you do a forum search, you may be able to find his contact information and try to reach him directly.

Marco (Mstanga) was considered by many as THE authority on the 3417. Unfortunately, he is no longer offering the books. He has essentially "closed down shop."

George - Did you ever find anything on that watch? I think I have a variation of it and trying to find out more and potential values etc... I never found that info from "mstanga"
Some had the word "Amagnetic" on the face and some didn't....

I prefer the 3417 Amagnetic you have got w/o "Amagnetic" on the dial and with dot minute markers.

Comparing the photos, they do not look the same.
Bezel looks different, your lugs appear to taper inward, and the crown placement looks different.
A side photo would probably clarify if it was a different case or not.

What makes the 3417 so valuable is the size and material, it is a steel case the measures 35mm.
I'm guessing your watch is white gold and smaller?

I am guessing your watch is about 10 years newer.

The reference number should be on the inside of the case back.

I am quite confident that the pic by rjb24 shows a 3417. I was close to pulling the trigger on that version myself as I prefer this later and cleaner dial to the earlier dial that most people have in mind when they think 3417. The shot shows nothing that has me doubt that he has the real deal.

Not worried about the inward tapering of the lugs which is probably just the result of the perspective / very close camera position when taking the shot.

But the watch seems to have been polished quite a bit (see extra bezel width at the bottom left lug and the bottom right lug itself).
