New 40mm “Blue Snowflake” in SS case from Grand Seiko. SBGA407. What a winner! And it’s not an April Fool’s joke 😍😍

Very nice!!! Only regrettable that it is so FAT at 12.8mm, unnecessary for a time date only.

I think all the automatic spring drives are around this thickness - so not sure if “unnecessary” given that there is no watch with which to compare it

I'm going in to the local boutique to try one of these on next week. However, I don't think I'll be pulling the trigger. As many have said, I think the 387 looks a little better. Also, it seems like they're going for a totally new case aesthetic on this model, which I'm not entirely sure I agree go with the snowflake "series" of watches. At 12+mm thick, it will have a harder time in my book going for the dressy look I think they are after.

That said, I'm excited to see it in person for myself. Pictures do not do many of these GS dials proper justice, who knows how I'll feel when I have it in my hands.

Did you see it? Pictures?

Or has anyone else seen this start to pop up in stores yet?

I'm very interested to try this one as it has steel case in a shape I like, similar to SBGR061 I previously owned, snowflake dial and spring drive movement. Only negative as I mentioned is the thickness, but that is Grand Seiko for you.

Starting to think this might be the one to have if I'm only going to own one Grand Seiko.

Why? The case or colour?

I tried Snowflake for the first time this week, didn’t like the case shape and dial was honestly a little too bright (maybe the AD light). I didn’t mind the titanium but prefer steel. SBGA407 they did not have and I had to order if I wanted one.

They are out now! My AD was strangely enough not bringing them by default so if I want one I have to order, for delivery in July.
