Icon4 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Coming in 2019 with 700-Plus HP

O' My!

saw a ford post today claiming "760hp/625ft/lb making it the most powerful street legal ford ever with the most power and torque dense supercharged production V8 in the world".

Going to be one heck of a car "if" you can get your hands on one without major markup. My neighbor got the GT350R when they first came out and WOW! such a fun car and sounds amazing with that flat plane V8.

YES, A Lot of POWER Here! But how will it transfer the power to the rear wheels? I guess you have to run some really gummy tires.

My Car spins the tires way to easily with only 600hp/516lb.sf!

Your car while incredible is not a race car.

This is designed to be track ready.

The dealer mark ups are going to me ridiculous.

I’ll not be paying an extra 30k for a circa 80k$ car.

Besides, dual clutch auto. No manual. I’ve got that base covered already. I love this thing, but I’m not interested in actually buying one.

I'm not in the market for a Track Ready Car. So, I gave your name and contact information to all the Ford Dealers in Southern California! They will be contacting you soon!

I must agree with this post.

If I’m going American muscle, this is what I’m doing.

Ironically, Chevy dealers ate offering huge discounts right now for C7’s. They can’t sell them. Give it some time and there will be a huge dealer markups on the C8

My wife's Mustang GT has been amazing considering the costs (purchased new) vs horsepower + technology. Fun to drive, very reliable and overall smiles per gallon factor is excellent.

Excellent point... the previous pinnacle of muscle cars perhaps in the late 60's and early 70's is experiencing an incredible rebirth. More horsepower, better handling, technology and design with the current crop of Corvettes, Chargers, Mustangs etc...has perhaps elevated the purchasing consumer to a new height for muscle cars.

The current Mustang sounds mean...I do fear them when I'm driving my car, but I'll smoke it on the track. :)

I have driven the current generation and it feels way too heavy. Powerful, yes, but heavy. So my vote is for the Corvette.

Isn’t the Mustang like 400 pounds lighter than Camaro’s and Challenger’s? I know Chevy was going to try and reduce weight on the Camaro not sure if they ever did.

Interesting. I did not realize that.

I’m glad I got my manual 911 while I could. The days of stick are numbered.

992 will still continue to be offered with an MT for some of the models, just like the 991, even if the PDK is faster.
