59601a blk. or 5960 P

1. NIB 5960 1a black face or
2. Preowned 5960P anthracite
similar price

which one would you choose and if possible why?

Thanks

Peter

So perhaps I can comment. I owned a 5960p grey dial a few years ago and it’s the watch that got me into pp. I wore it to my wedding and loved it. Alas it was sold after and I’ve still fond memories of it. I then had a 5960p black dial and loved that too, rarer and more special but it just didn’t feel right. I now own a 5960 1a Black (had the white but couldn’t get on with the colour).

I prefer the steel 1a black for sure, my reasons
- on a bracelet and can be worn on leather (which I am doing)
- more sporty dial, definately felt this after the previous models
- steel so more durable
- lighter. Which is a big deal as the plat models are too heavy I found and that was a major drawback. Steel solves that
- then, for the 1a steel, black, was only in production for a year. Major pull. There are so many 5960 greys that the rarity alone will help support prices and may even rise over time. I’ve seen these stabilise already and do a lot better than white.
- finally the red chrono hands and dial (yes I know I said this) really make it stand out

Very under appreciated model, in steel and black dial, only going one way over time I believe.

Cheers

Great answer. Oppiefive, you may grow to prefer the bracelet.

Anthracite.

You’ll never be able to read the black dial. Very illegible and only at the correct angles/lighting.

I’ve always liked the grey dial, sometimes regret selling mine
