Blank warranty papers?
Hello TRF,
A coworker of mine wants to part way with his two tone Datejust which is a full set, however I noticed that the warranty paper is blank - meaning no dealer details and it’s not signed. All serial numbers match. Should I be concerned? |

I purchased my GMT-Master at the Hainerberg Germany Army PX in 1982 and my paperwork was never filled out. Maybe it just depends on where it was purchased

Hmm. He has no recollection of where he purchased it since it was 40 year ago lol. But, yeah you may be right. I hope it’s not a deal breaker to potential buyers.

It is not unusual at all to find a warranty paper that was not completed by the dealer at the time of the sale.

Also, keep in mind that the dealer/client area on a lot of those papers were filled in by hand with a pen, so it's not as if they all had an official dealer stamp.
The only thing you need to worry about is that the serial number matches, and that the paper is authentic, of course. |

In the bottom hand corner of the cert there is an abbreviated date - which could be 1-2 yrs later than the serial number
Also look inside the booklets - do these date tally up? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

With the introduction of the warranty papers depicted in the photo below, Rolex added watermarks to their Garantie or Garantie/Chronometer papers. Hold the paper up to a light and look for a large Rolex and coronet watermark. All these style papers are watermarked except the very early ones.
