Precious metal question.

I really like the the WG Daytona 116519LN and prefer this version with its ceramic bezel rather than the 116509 WG bezel version pictured below.

Unless I'm mistaken this version can't be bought with a WG bracelet.

However, I always prefer metal bracelets even though I know the Oysterflex is a super duper bracelet. Just feels more comfortable on my wrist.

I wonder if I bought one, would Rolex sell a 116509 bracelet?

My photoshop skills are rubbish so I'll let you use your imagination :)

You’re not mistaken. You’re also not alone!

You might be able to source a WG bracelet separately but it could get very expensive.

Many would love this combination (myself included) I bought both models, thought the bracelet would win out for me...ended up keeping the OF. The contrast of black ceramic bezel, black Sub dials, steel dial, was a better combination (IMO). Both are fantastic!
I’m sure someone with more knowledge on the subject will chime in, but I’m not sure the bracelet will fit on the OF model.

bracelet won't fit... look at the end links

You can go the other way around with OF if you can source one by adding custom end links to a bracelet version.

Cost prohibitive even if it was possible as i think the bracelet is fairly close to 20k USD. Im sure someone else knows for sure and will chime in.

I would love it in the configuration you want but i still think i would pick the OF version as its my favorite daytona counting both real and hypothetical versions.

Bezel swap sounds like a great plan and should be way cheaper than buying a bracelet on its own.

I paid £650 for an extra link for my Everose Rootbeer GMT. God knows what they'd charge for a whole bracelet lol

Would Rolex do the bezel swap or would it be an aftermarket job?

independent watchmaker for sure as no way Rolex will do it. Ive seen a few Rolex bezels floating around here but they are not easy to source.

Shirley, you jest.

Rolex will never do a non-OEM combo. They specifically make the endlinks different so you theoretically can't do this.

(edit) What he said above.

No Rolex does not allow that.

You could also try to source the steel dial and just add it to a 116500.

why would anyone do that

"I finally got a daytona C and now im going to make it non ceramic "

...nevermind. I read steel bezel for some reason. Yeah the dial swap would work too
However to me that starts to cross the line of good taste, which is modding a SS watch to make it look PM but until the full bracelet WG version comes with a ceramic bezel, its ok in my book.

Haha never! I mean add the steel dial of the 116519LN to a 116500.

I'm in the minority here, but just much prefer the 509 version. It looks about a million times better in the flesh than pics, so if you're comparing by looking at internet photos...don't.

I've had the OF (on the YM, not the Daytona) and have to say I'm not a fan. IMO, there is no comparison between feeling rubber on the wrist or solid gold.

Exactly. I have the OF RG Yachdmaster and a RG solid Gold Daytona and although both look and feel spectacular, I do miss the heft of the Solid Gold Bracelet. The SG rolex often times says hello by making one aware of the heft whereas the OF Rolex still says hello but not as often

And the SS Sub to me feels comfy but not a statement piece...

Swapping a Daytona bezel and dial is easy, but I'm not doing it.
I'm not risking my job because someone wants a particular configuration that isn't offered by Rolex.

Shame really because Rolex already do a precious metal Daytona with a ceramic bezel and PM bracelet :(

I might have to save my pennies, bite the bullet and go for the daddy.

In the meantime I'll make do with my boring steel and ceramic lol.

I m with you on this one.

PM, ceramic and strap/rubber work well, but that WG bezel with the steel dial on the 509 with it’s thicker case than the SS is just a thing of beauty.

For me this is the post of the year.
I too, love thie steel dial 509. I’ve the meteorite dial plus 4 other DT’s so it’s hard to justify.
But I can lust!
Almost as beautiful as the monotone platinum YM.
Regards
