Buying my first vintage Rolex
Hello everyone,
This is my first post, so I hope that I am doing it in the right thread and don't double post. I am looking for buying my first Rolex ideally a 26mm, two-tone (steel and gold) with a jubilee band and diamonds as numbers, although this depends on the price. However, I have been to a jewelry store, where they sell Rolex watches, since where I live we don't have a mono brand Rolex store and the sales associate told me that the 26mm is on the way out and they cannot order it anymore, hence I looked on the pre-loved market and I found the perfect one to an absolute amazing price, but I am not sure about the authenticity. Does anyone know this store, it is located in Munich, Germany. They also offer the possibility to return the watch, hence I am thinking ordering it and maybe return it?! The band does not have the crown, but the clasp with the crown on it - or is this simply an indicator of age? Normally I am more into bags, but my wishlist is pretty much fulfilled. So I hope anyone could help me, as my watch knowledge is rather minimal. https://www.juwelier-rieger.de/beta/...-,uhren,10446u Thank you all very much in advance! xx C. |

Welcome to the forum! It looks like a very nice authentic 26mm ladies DJ. The clasp does show the crown in the usual place so I'm not understanding your statement about that.
The usual suspects will be along to tell you you'll enjoy a bigger, different metal. different model more than this watch. Ignore them and buy exactly what you like. :) |

The watch I have tried on in the store has had the following closing (only the crown): https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...act=mrc&uact=8 However, the one I have posted has a different closure, is this simply due to the fact that the watch is older? |

Yes, the stamped crown is older.

The age of this watch is late 80s to early 90s... you can tell by the holes on the sides of the case where the bracelet attaches... the watch should be a 69173 model and everything on it is period correct...
