Ideally 36mm - 40mm works. 38mm-39mm is the sweet spot for me. I have 6.75 inch wrists.
Over 40mm, forget it. I really can’t even consider. I know others with my wrist size prob are ok with up to 42-43mm. But personal taste for me I don’t like it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

7" wrist here. 40-41mm is perfect for me. 43-44mm max, 39mm minimum.

39-42mm
Depends on the actual case/bezel design though

It depends on lug thickness, size, case height etc. I have a Speedmaster X33 which is quoted at 45mm but because of its slim, curved lugs, it wears like a 40-42mm. Which is my preferred range for Rolex. The 40mm sub always looks small when it goes on to my 6.75"wrist, but it looks perfect by the time I take it off. My 42mm Polar looks good from start to finish. And they are both soooo comfortable.
I wore a 43mm Aquaracer today. Looked pretty good. Wore uncomfortably and was a relief to take off. That's the problem with Oyster bracelets. They make most other things feel like junk. I don't own a non Oyster bracelet Rolex. I expect the Jubilee and others are just as comfortable. It seems to be a Rolex thing. |

Each to their own taste for me
If it looks good to you - and you’re not fazed by what others think or say - then any size is “ideal” I recently bought a Sky Dweller and I wanted it so bad because it is an amazing watch BUT i knew looking at my wrist - and despite many encouraging posts - it was too big for me and my own psychological comfort zone So I am waiting on my DJ41 on oyster, bevilled bezel, rhodium....and can’t wait!! |

40-44mm. I’ve got a 46mm and a 38mm that I also like. So in general I prefer larger watches, but appreciate each watch for what it is.

36-42mm is my preferred range, although lug length and bezel width are major factors too. I prefer my dress watches to be 36-39mm.

At my age, 60, my wrist size, 7.5 and my declining vision, 43-44 mm is my sweet spot. Definitely nothing smaller than 40.

The other thing I know, based on reading dozens of "is this too big?" threads on several forums, is that a size that looks good to me is about 4mm smaller than what the forum would say "looks fine" if I posted wrist shots and asked.
Wearing a watch that measures lug to lug the same or anywhere close to your wrist width looks about as natural to me as wearing a belt buckle that is as wide as your hips. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |
