5513 dial backs / base-plates
After searching extensively on google for an answer, I've decided to come to RF instead. While there is a myriad of info on dial fronts - font, indices etc, and bezel inserts etc, there is really very little on the base-plate itself / or more specifically the back of the dial.
So, my question. Amongst Singer dials for feet first 5513's, were there differences in the base-plate? Some I've seen have a single 'Singer' inscription with a little logo above, but I also saw one with what looked like a continuous scroll of SINGER going right across the dial back, from edge to edge, where the SINGER inscription was partial at each edge like it was cut from one sheet of metal which just had SINGERSINGERSINGER etc stamped/etched in. Is one correct and the other not? Were there both types made made during a similar period? I look forward to hearing your thoughts. |

not sure if this helps, but i recently saw a picture of the back of a 5513 dial and it had SINGER+SINGER+....... it was noted as being not particularly common. the watch was circa 1967. another variant to ponder.

Interesting, not common perhaps, but likely genuine?
