Apparently I’m chop liver...:)
Wife and I were out for a stroll window shopping. Hopped into a non Patek watch boutique. She had her 7118 1300r on, Me my DJ41.
Sales guy walks right up to my wife talks to her the entire time. Me. Didn’t bother talking to me. Apparently I’m chopped liver. Wife knows nada about watches but all of sudden she’s a WIS and he says that’s such a collectible watch blah blah blah. I feel so neglected. So I Went home and stared at my watches to feel better lol |

A lot of times, watch salespeople treat Rolex owners and Patek owners differently. I have been to Rolex ADs and when I start talking about Patek, they treat me in a totally different way (treated much better). I have seen the same when visiting a Patek AD wearing a Patek vs a Rolex. They judge your spending capacity based on the watch you are wearing on your wrist. Also when visiting a Patek AD, I get treated differently when I am wearing an Aquanaut vs a LE 175th Anniversary watch.
It's like the difference between driving your Ferrari to a BMW dealership vs driving your BMW to a Ferrari dealership. |
