SeaDweller a better choice vs Sub now???
Now that the 126___ & 126___ Subs are commanding nutso prices, do you consider the 126600 SD as a better option? It has same movement as 126___ Sub, it has a “red line”, and, generally speaking, is the more capable piece. I also think most would see it as the more attractive watch.
Interestingly, I was in Rome September 2019 wearing my 114060 and I bumped into a guy wearing the new SD and I have to admit ... it was a better looking watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

SD43 and DSSD are all big watches, sub is a lot more comfortable to wear for most people, and it costs less
In terms of collectivity then maybe |

It's an individual thing, for me I would pick the SD43 regardless of cost.

I believe the prices of SD are similar/same/less than Subs now. So for similar price, which would you choose? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd still pick sub but the SD43 is a killer watch. Didn't work with my wrist.

For me and my 7.1" wrist I always thought the Sub was too small for my taste; to me, the SD43 is the perfect diver. However, I've always lusted after a Hulk and the new green Sub is top of my wish list.

The SD is an incredible looking and capable watch, but the size is a challenge for those with more modest wrist sizes. I could probably live with the 43mm case diameter, but the 15mm thickness would be too thick for me as a daily wearer.

OP: I would choose the SD43 everyday. I think they’ve modeled the new sub after the SD. The fully graduated bezel is far more attractive to me than just the first 15 minutes. The SD isn’t that thick, and with the glide lock in the clasp getting a great fit is easy. I always scratch my head when people say it’s not comfortable. |

I’m leaning towards the SD 43 for now. Great watch!

Better choice if you want a watch now vs a waitlist! Love the SD43 look.

I have SD4K which is the perfect dive watch in my opinion
SD43 would love to have with red line, but the watch is just too big for my wrist... actually its "ok" and can pull it off but its just a tad overwhelming for my liking I would chose in the following order SD4K > Sub41 > Sd43 |

I could see most people still getting the sub.
But for me, that's just one more reason to stick with the SD43! |

SD43 is the winner for me. With its introduction, I was skeptical of the 43mm size, but when I had the opportunity to try one on, the proportions were ideal and it did not wear like an oversized watch. It was not top heavy like I suspected, and I feel it is one of the most comfortable Rolex I have worn. I have no experience with the 41mm Subs, but have owned both 5 and 6 digit 40mm.

Since purchasing the SD43 in Oct 17, my Sub has stayed in my watchbox. In my humble opinion the SD43 in Rolex’s best all around SS sports watch.

If you have wrist size, I'd for the SD43.

I have the sub and thought the SD43 would be too big for me. But when they fit the bracelet at the AD it was perfect. The SD43 feels like it curves to my wrist much better than the sub. Both are fantastic watches though. I would probably lean towards the safer statement of "one watch" then get the sub, but the SD43 is freaking awesome in my opinion.

Fully agree. In my case I thought that sd would be so big. After trying I can see that I can wear it but for every day... not sure. The difference in weight is what I felt the most. At the end pulled the trigger on a sub. |

SD43 is a treasure! And my choice, the new SubC is a BEAUTY, but a little bit more special is the sd43 for me

In the secondary market, the SD43 is actually 3 grand cheaper than the Sub Date which makes it a bargain in comparison. If you have 7in+ flat wrists, I think the SD43 is a better value proposition (not if you can buy the pieces from your AD).
Also, I find the SD43 a notch above the Sub 12x in terms of case design where the tapered lugs meet the bracelet almost seemlessly, a true work of art. That to me is the single most attractive feature of the watch, looking badass but refined at the same time. Yes, the dial could be a tad larger, but we all know there's no perfect watch and never will be. The case redesign of the Sub is a vast improvement, so much so it swayed me to finally pull the trigger on a Bluesy. Rolex have mostly addressed the fat lugs. I say mostly because not completely. Had there been a TT Bluesy SD43, that's the one I would have picked. The dial of the Sub is now slightly larger, so that's a plus. I will enjoy and happily wear my Bluesy, its a beautiful watch, really stunning. However I would most probably trade it in for a Bluesy SD43. I don't mind the extra weight. So SD43 > Sub 12X. Ask me tomorrow and I might value the better dial to case ratio of the Sub over the better lugs design of the SD43. Or maybe we just need both in a collection after all. I prefer the presence of the Sea Dweller over the Submariner Date (if I have to have a date on my diver). A Submariner on the other hand is the only one in this line I would get.

Love it when the Sea Dweller people come out in force, basically all you have to do is write Sea Dweller in the title.
