Rolex Daytona Platinum or AP 26320OR Gold Chrono

Guys,
If you had to pick one end game/grail watch which would it be from these 2? Value, collectibility? Long term ?

I own this:

And was thinking about trading it for this.

Thoughts?? I own 2 other Daytonas, so losing this one wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

I'd keep that Daytona. 3 maybe a touch too many but whatever. I think if the AP was blue dial stainless steel chrono or moonphase calendar then I'd be a different story.

Keep the platona. Platina > Yellow gold for my taste (and in my opinion)

That AP is beautiful, but a better movement in the Daytona

Rolex Daytona Platinum or AP 26320OR Gold Chrono

I know this a Rolex forum! Heck I own 7 Rolex watches, 3 Tudors and one AP 15500 Stainless. Just trying to diversify my collecton.

By the way, own the Platona at suggested retail. Didn’t pay over.

Of the two I would keep the AP which to me is a better-looking watch.

Beautiful Daytona you have! But I’d rather have that rose gold Audemars

Do you want another watch that can fly under the radar, or would you like one that stands out?
I think the answer to that will guide your answer. I have the black dial OR AP and love it - but it’s not a daily for me because of what I do. It definitely fits the evening/weekend piece well though.

Yeah, i see it now when looking on my phone. It doesn’t change my suggestion. I personally like the metal look more but rose does look better than yellow.

the ap is 41mm and wears a fair bit larger than the daytona.. the 38mm ap wears similar to how the rolex wears

that being said i prefer to have only 1 of each model and if i bought a daytona already, an AP will be next to add to my collecton

AP fan here but Platona in this scenario. IMO, nothing special about that AP. I’m not a fan of the small movement in this piece; just look at the date window.

So I have other gold pieces. Daydate 40 Chocolate Dial with Bags, Yellow Full gold Sub, Blusey, and a Rose Gold Skydweller, on a Brown Alligator strap.. So no shortage of gold…

I don’t see a need for multiple Daytonas but that AP doesn’t do it for me. The caliber of watches currently available around 80k is staggering. Neither would be my choice but Daytona preferred.

I'm curious, what other watches would you consider around 80k?

For around 80k I would look for one of these.
Patek Philippe Complications
Patek Nautilus annual calendar
AP Royal Oak 39mm perpetual calendar

80-100k

FPJ: CB, Havana CS, CMS Ti, CTS2

Patek: 5170P, early 5270s are getting very close to 100k, 5131,

Lange ZW date

AP RO titanium PC

There’s a lot of watches falling into the 50-80 range id prefer as well honestly.
