Vegas authorized dealer experiences?

Wondering what people’s experiences are getting watches from the AD’s in Vegas?

I have the impression there is often no to minimal wait time- due to the fact that almost all the buyers are from out of town, and there on vacation.

There are also 5 AD’s in Vegas so I figure odds should be decent.

I am looking to get a submariner or a GMT. Would obviously have no buy history with that specific AD in Vegas but I do own a polar explorer I could wear in.

Those are both models that you could flip in a second for more than list.

So you are really asking,

Are any of the Vegas AD's likely to give me a cheque for $3000 or $6000 if I walk in and be nice to them?

It would be very nice of them and tremendous for you, but I would say fairly unlikely.

I mean sure, but they also have to sell watches to somebody. I imagine they do not have as many “preferred clients” as most other cities. But I do imagine there are people that visit Vegas multiple times throughout the year.

I really wanted to see what people’s experiences are who have bought from a Vegas AD.

It's unlikely but it never hurts to try...
I had a friend who walked into an AD and walked out with a batman about a year ago.
Dealer just told him he had good timing as they just got their shipment in earlier that day.

2 million people live in Vegas, including celebrities, CEO's, multi-million dollar enterprises, and several major league sport franchises; why would you think that it is different from other big cities with watch buyers?

For now expect a great welcoming, yet no stock (unless you're reeeeally lucky in Vegas). Go have fun and visit WoS @ Wynn as they have many brands.

Yeah true.

But it is still a tourism town for the most part.

However I can see how they can have some “preferred clients”.

My town has no AD, and as my folks live in Vegas, I have made that my shopping home. After many discussions with my AD over the years, I can tell you that there are many who buy who are more than your transient shoppers you are alluding to.

A few months ago someone flew in from Southeast Asia to pick up a Patek, flew back the same day I believe. I have even flown in just for a couple hours to pick up a hard to get piece. I guess you could call us "transient" shoppers as well .

Yeah that’s true. I can see how some ballers even make a place in Vegas their “primary” AD, especially if they like gambling.

Thanks for the input everyone.

My dreams are crushed . Still might as well try though 🥸.

BTW if you're going to Vegas this weekend, the F1 nightmare only makes things worse. I'd wait until after the New Year.

I was at the Rolex Boutique inside the Wynn on Nov. 8th and had a great experience. I was able to look at several watches I have my eye on and surprisingly they actually had 3 for sale. Explorer 1 36mm, Datejust 41 two tone oyster fluted black dial, and Datejust 41 two tone rose gold with fluted motif silver looking dial.
Almost got the Explorer for my wife but she wants to wait for the Datejust 36 silver dial.
Watches of Switzerland was fun to visit. Tried on a couple Pateks but they just don’t speak to me at all. Would much rather have a Rolex or Tudor.

All the AD's aren't on the Strip where locals seldom shop.

Look into T-bird Jewelers - off Strip, and an AD.

Vegas availability is a joke, dealers display cases are empty.

I’ve said it before there are plenty of Rolex’s in Vegas however they are on peoples wrists.

Zero chance sorry, probably greater chance in Monaco.

I was there in August and only went to the boutique and Bucherer Time Dome, both in the Forum Shops. Everyone was nice. The staff at the boutique made it clear that they had more than enough whales locally and didn't sell to tourists.

The SA at Bucherer was also nice but when I was looking at Rolex every single time she handed me one she said "not for sale" which got super old super quick because I had told her I didn't expect her to sell me a Rolex the first time and there were approximately 100 "For Exhibition Only" signs in the cases.

Honestly, looking at Rolexes isn't as much fun as it used to be. The Time Dome did have a lot of pre-owned models but their prices were dear to say the least.

Been meaning to post, as I just joined the forum. I was in Vegas for U2 on 10/28 and walked into the small Rolex boutique in the Caesar shops with my wife and they had just put 3 watches in the case for sale. One of them was a 31mm OP with a green dial. My wife has wanted the green dial for a while, so we obviously bought it. I mentioned wanting an Explorer II, and walked out with a black dial version. No previous purchase history. Both of the other watches sold within 30 minutes while we were in there.

All that to say, you never know!

I stopped in the Wynn Rolex a couple of weekends ago. Lots of good stuff to try on but they didn’t have anything for sale.

I had a great conversation with a SA and I honestly think he would’ve offered me something if he had it. I’m not in the market for anything in particular but we talked shop for a while. I was wearing my WG Daytona I bought earlier this year.

I visited the two stores in the Caesars shops mentioned already about a year ago. The Boutique had several bejewelled PM watches for sale. The SA was pretty nice, said he would take my info for just about anything but if I got called I would have to come pick it up ASAP. My guess is in between local clients and tourists, watches don’t stay in the safe long.

Have fun on your trip! And you never know; I scored my JC as a walk in back in March of ‘22 when they were reselling for $20k+ with retail being $14,150, so it is possible, just highly unlikely.

Never know, might hit a jackpot and you can bundle it with a big non-Rolex purchase.

I was in Vegas last month. Wynn had a couple of two-tone datejusts. Crystal's had smooth bezel datejust. Definitely possible to get a Rolex in Vegas as a passing tourist, but I wouldn't count on a sought after one.
