Yes, assuming your assumption is correct, 10,000 pieces are a lot.

But there are about 200 countries in the world. Meaning each country would get 5 pieces per year or 50 pieces over 10 years. How many would actually come to the grey market each year?

As long as the demand is there and the production is limited, the 5711a would remain a highly coveted piece.

There are just under 400 Patek ADs in the world and they are concentrated in the US, Asia and Europe. I don't know how 200 countries and 5 pieces per country calculation comes into play since wealth (and purchasing power) is not distributed evenly around the world.

I would also guess that over 50% of newly sold 5711/1A today are flipped for a profit within a few months. That would mean quite a few pieces are making it to the gray market.

Now the 5650G sold for ~$160k USD equivalent at the most recent Phillips auction in HK.

Thank you. I was curious where the Patek ADs in Rwanda and Honduras and Antarctica were.
