So I totally agree with your assessment and wish you the best of luck down the line acquiring one of these bad boys. Do take a good look @ the Datographs too from Lange as I was smitten with those as well....but the Patek is just SOOOOOO much more wearable for a small wrist like mine (6.375"). Thanks again!
No misunderstanding... all three of those watches are great... And yes your Patek is in a different league no doubt...
Lange is a great watch company as well and I would love to have one as well... But for now I think I will save my pennies for a Patek...

Wow, this may be the nicest watch I've ever seen, however surely this is a dress watch, so why the tachymeter and a chronograph?

Or is this common? I'm fairly new to watchea

As sporty as the complication is for a chronograph....it is also one of the finest horological achievements in history in terms of complication. The 5170 is extra special in the way that this is Patek's first fully in house choronograph movement moving away from the Lemania mods all these years. It is an incredible movement to look @/scrutinize.

Thanks, and would love to see the group shot. This blue dial is so alive.

This is my favorite Patek short of minute repeaters, just an awesome reference. Great pics everyone!

It needs a matte strap so I can wear it more often with my wardrobe, but everything about the 5170P is stunning and I couldn't be happier. I love my Daytonas, but this is another level that I didn't fully comprehend until I got my hands on one. The dial is gorgeous, the chrono and crown are buttery smooth, the finish of the movement is hard to take your eyes off of, and the diamonds are just enough to add some style while still presenting overall as a fairly understated watch. Perfection

Congrats to all owners of this piece, it is truly a beautiful watch to behold but even more importantly is superb on the wrist. I have constant thoughts about my cancelled piece and whether I should change my mind!

I got to try out this watch and it's incredibly beautiful in real life, much better than pics can do it justice. The platinum case and the black/blue dial. The diamond indices are very discrete. Need to save up for this one. Definitely under my radar.
