I was referring to the chronograph's hand (in Patek's speak) - the one that looks like the conventional center second hand.

Thank you all!

I am still convinced I am dreaming... She wears like an absolute dream.

I do think that I need to get another link taken out and install a 1.5 link to get the balance on the wrist perfected.

Again, thank you all! I love this piece a ton! I was initially skeptical over the last few years, especially when it first came out. Too big, brash and expensive. When in reality, the dial is amazing and clean for having both a dual time/chronograph complication, and the watch is not too big or thick for its sportier persona. Plus it's a bargain next to the 11/12 grey prices.

Brilliant!!!!

Interested to know how much thicker it is compared to a 5164? Does it wear much bigger?

5164 is 10.2mm and the 5990 is 12.53mm. On the wrist the 5990 does feel thicker with the taller caseback and bezel.

So far, my impressions are that the 5164 wears bigger than the 5990. That's because of the rubber strap - it is inflexible at the edges of the case and doesn't drape down as much, whereas the bracelet on the 5990 drapes down closer to the end of the case.
