This or That: Kermit or SS Daytona

Price is virtually the same and both watches are complete sets and unpolished. Would you rather have a later run Kermit or SS Daytona 116520 (Black)? Contemplating a 1:1 swap.

Definitely the 116520 for me. They’re both way too expensive for me at the current market price, but at least with the Daytona you’re getting more for your money (chrono movement, updated bracelet and clasp, etc).

They have different case shapes and wear a little differently. Which is more comfortable on you? The Daytona is the most comfortable Rolex I’ve ever owned.

The Kermit is a beautiful watch but I don’t get the crazy prices!! For that reason I would take the Daytona over the kermit any day!!

I like the Kermit vs 116520. If it was a 116500 than that would be my choice!

I have had both, prefer the LV. On the Daytona, the ceramic bezel took it to another level compared to 116520 imho.

I don't know about choosing between them but I would not give up my Kermit for a 116520.

Tough choice, I traded my 2006 Kermit towards the 16520. I’m more partial to the 5 digit models.

Man. That is tough. Both great watches. I don’t know if my decision is clouded by market value, but I would go with the Daytona. I don’t have a 5 digit sub but I think they will wear similarly.
Tough call but I really like chronographs so I would go Daytona.

I enjoy both in the collection. Daytona gets more wrist time for me.

Purchased a Kermit today, full set, very clearly never polished. I did not pay 16520 money.

Congrats on your new Kermit! It’s a great reference.

The OP said a 116520 not 16520.

The 16610LV (Kermit) has been discontinued for approximately a decade. You may have been referring to the 116610LV (Hulk).

This or That: Kermit or SS Daytona

I would personally choose the black dial 116520 over the 16610LV (Kermit) if both were the same overall condition and price. The 50th anniversary, maxi dial and maxi hands make the Kermit unique. The Daytona is sleek, wears smaller and is very comfortable.

With that said, I own a black dial 116520, and one day hope to own a Kermit. They are both discontinued, and great references.

Let us know what you decide.

Agree Eddie. I've owned both and I know you do own both.

16610 LV Kermit all day.

Green is good.

Kermit, more practical for daily use with date function.
