I had the same problem with the holes/spacing. I just heated a small pin-tack nail and made a hole in between the other two. Perfect. Now I have macro-adjustment too! The colour looks different from mine, but it could be the lighting/camera etc. Here's my one, which appears a little more blue/slate grey...

Time factors is my favorite, I also have Maratac, but I prefer the Time Factors. Disclaimer: I don't have a sub, or even a rolex, but I still vouch for time factors.

Evaluating the Phoenix Admiralty grey NATO strap

So here are some more shots in different light with different reference colors (black jacket, white shirt, and grey sweater)... hopefully using the reference colors you can get a better idea of what it looks like. Its definitely very hard to capture the true color as it seems to change with lighting.

After a couple of days of having this strap here is my review: I LOVE the color and feel. It is very crisp... like a starched shirt. Not as soft as the maratacs. But not rough to the touch either. I like the stainless steel hardware. BUT my only concern is (as you may be able to see in some of the photos) that there is some small discernable wear on the outside of the holes where the strap loops back through the buckles. I feel like it is WAY to early to be seeing this type of wear...

I'm going to keep this on as my main strap for some more time and see how it does... More detail on wear process to come.

(Note that I have trimmed and sealed the end myself... it arrived with a much cleaner end )

For those little frays (wear) around the holes, I have just used a lighter, and briefly (and I mean briefly) held a flame quickly to that side of the strap. All the frays magically disappear.
Oh, take the watch off your wrist first, or you may end up with the same result on your arm hair.

The biggest issue for me is POLISHED vs. BRUSHED finish on the S/S. No matter how nice the fabric is, if the hardware is polished and your watch is brushed it totally ruins the look.

A tip...try folding the tail of the strap INWARD so that the end is hidden by the rest of the tail (kind of hard to explain). Instead, you've folded the tail OUTWARD so that the end is visible.

Phoenix straps get nicely worn in quite quickly. The holes stretch and fray...but frankly that's part of the charm. Maratc hold up MUCH better over time.

Oh cool! haha! I just tried that folding pattern you described... looks a lot cleaner! Thanks for the tip!!

And I think I will try that lighter trick... Today I made my own hole with a heated up pin! Worked more easily than I thought. In spite of the wear characteristics, I definitely like this Pheonix more than the maratacs so far.

Thanks again for that folding tip!

Thanks for sharing. I'm gonna get me a gray like that. Interesting that you fold the end over, I've always went under. However I now snip the end off to avoid the need for the flip.

Nice review Greg

As previously mentioned I have worn mine none stop 24/7 for the past 6 months and though it has frayed a bit, I think that it adds to the character of the whole thing.

I too had to make an extra hole and now it fits like a glove

I wanted take a moment and share a photo of my Phoenix admiral grey on my Explorer II. I think they match together well.

By the way, I'd also like to share what great service I had from Michael DiMartini at Everest. I had my bands in no time AND when I had questions about the "Everest" strap he said "here's my number, give me a ring."

All the phoenix straps are more of the nylon feel, not cotton. Thin but strong.

Got mine from Everest the other day. Arrived stiff but after a few days of wear and working out with it, it's broken in very nicely.

Great strap by far but the service from Michael at Everest was fantastic.

Phoenix is its own company based out of England. Get this... recently checked ebay for more and the guy that usually sells them (Mickie500) has NOTHING listed... i dont know whats going on... I actually was in talks with him not long ago considering becoming a small distributor in the US... eventually decided not to do it at this time. Anyway, I find it odd that there are none listed on ebay from him....

Hey guys thanks for the compliments! We are really proud of these, with all of the Asian versions out there it is hard to tell from pictures what is good and what may be junk. I will say that for some reason, when I get a PM, no email is sent to my address. Either way, I wander the TRF site pretty much every day 2-3 times a day.

The guys at Phoenix are on Vacation for the next few weeks, (the other Mike,LOL) but I am here in Missouri USA if your heart or your wrist desires some nylon!

Nice G10s. Are the the buckles/loops on the Phoenix/Everest straps stitched in as well? I can't tell from the pics. I have a Maratac and the hardware is stitched.
