My Tudor lollipop sub that my parents gave me for my 13th birthday. I don’t wear it but still have it. As you can see the lollipop line fell out of the hand from dryness so it needs to be serviced. It was bought new in 1984.

Some amazing references here in this thread. I wish I could contribute but all mine are of the 6 digit era and not all that old.

My 14060 Submariner, bought new in Feb. 1996. It´s my only Rolex and my everyday watch for 26.5 years. Serviced twice and still working perfectly. She´ll outlive me for sure!

What is your longest owned Rolex watch?

I’ve had this 16030 for 30 years. Bought it in pre-owned in 1992.

Got my 16808 YG sub with blue nipple dial in 1987. Still within 4 sec/day and looks better than anything new nowadays to me. Will never sell

16618 Sub date bought new in 1994.

Safe queen, too much bling.

Love the Tritium under UV, though!

I think “collectors” come in a few breeds.

The buy but never sell type.
The trader/flipper type.
The serial collector type.
The investor type.

Only the first type will have their original Rolex methinks. Or the fourth type if s/he is in the long-term cohort.

Of course the second type is unlikely to still have their first Rolex.

For Rolex, I fall into the third type. It was an Expl. II Polar and was spectacular to me. But I chose to be a serial collector with never more than 3 or 4 watches at one time. So it’s long gone.

But I do have my very first Swiss Watch…an Omega from 1965. It was a graduation gift and I’ll never part with it until St. Peter pulls it off at the Pearly Gates.

Fifty-seven years young.

Ok, so I am a relative newb to actual ownership. I wanted a Rolex since the 1980s, but was never in the position to get one.

Last year, however, I bought three. A new Daytona 116503 (2021), a Submariner 16610(1990), and an Oyster Perpetual 1014(1961). The Daytona was purchased in April, the Sub in June, and the OP in August. So, all are 2021 purchases. I am happy though to have a four digit reference, a five digit reference, and a six digit reference in my collection.

So, not a long-time owner like most of you, but I never plan to sell any of them.

I consider myself a "collector" but that doesn't mean I buy and hold every watch as I like way too many brands/watches and don't have unlimited funds! But the older my original BLNR gets, the more I realize the significance of still having one of the originals. This is something I didn't quite appreciate until I got further into this hobby and have experienced so many others watches!

Great contribution from all. Please keep them coming!!
