NEWS: TRF Incomings Set New WORLD RECORD!!!
In my un-expert assessment....
Press Release Today I am proclaiming that Rolex has set a new World Record for incoming posts here on TRF. I can not recall as many incoming / got the call posts... ever. Mark your calendar, as August 12th (2022) marks a new benchmark for Rolex. A Crown For Every Achievement

Rumor is that AD's are unloading their safes of coveted SS ROLEXES to actual retail buyers as their grey market contacts are no longer buying the ADs' watches "under the table" because the market has collapsed.

Good article on Financial Times (link not working) that makes sense to me as a small business owner, Asia makes up a lot of the luxury watch market.
“ Luxury watch prices plummet on weak Chinese consumer confidence Second-hand market for high-end goods battered by Beijing’s strict adherence to zero-Covid One watch investor in China said a ‘weak economy cannot support a luxury boom’ © Alex Plaveski/EPA-EFE The prices of second-hand luxury goods have fallen rapidly in China over recent months, as even the wealthy cut back on their discretionary spending and sell their Rolex watches and Hermès bags to raise cash. “ Unless that’s taboo Last edited by Zartan; 13 August 2022 at 10:34 AM.. Now that’s something to cheer me up after an exhausting day. I hope it only gets better, perhaps to the point you just walk in and make a purchase without a long list or making an extra purchase just for preferential treatment.

The video was posted 10 years ago. There wasn't a white face Daytona ceramic at that time.

Soon, am sure you touched base with your AD recently. I have faith. Here's an incoming just posted moments ago

A beat up 2017 BLNR with no box/papers now sells for a paltry $15k. Probably a year more before price parity is reached - maybe.

This could be part of the reason. Plus for whatever it’s worth I was at our local mall and was passing by the Rolex boutique and saw not one person the store which is unusual. Normally I just go right by but decided to stop in. Cases full with mostly exhibition models but there were Lady DJs in the cases for sale.

Have noticed a lot of this amongst my group of friends who are into watches. Much more incomings than anytime over the past few years. Big changes are that greys are not really buying so flippers aren't either. Also the "buy whatever you can get your hands on at the AD" mentality is largely gone since it is no longer guaranteed that you can resell for what you paid (tax inclusive) on a lightly worn piece.

Over? Did you say over?
Sorry Flounder Chewbacca, I tried speaking up for you. You're a legacy! Well, let me tell you the story....
