Incoming in Sydney. Image heavy.

Hi all,

After a long time forum reader and digesting a lot of information, I was set on a Sub no date. I went down the usual path of going to the Sydney ADs only to be told the same as other Sydney and Aussie readers...1-2 year waiting list.

Then the other day, I got a referral to a jeweller that had a Sub with date brand new only just arrived. I wasn't too keen but the wife urged me to do and take a look. Got my funds ready just in case and when I saw it in the metal, I was sold. Must say the date cyclops is growing on me and quintessentially Rolex. I may look at changing it to a flat crystal a year down the track but we'll see. Only slight negative is that I was set on a blue lume and its most definitely green, but hey. I've got a Rolex Submariner I didn't have to plonk down a deposit on and wait 2 years, nor did I have to fly to Japan or HK.

Images below for your perusal. I must say a big thanks to the members here as the insights, information and input was extremely helpful. Can't say I'll be getting rid of this, its so comfortable, has some weight to it but light enough that I hardly notice its there. Glidelock...enough said.

Congratulations and a good one for your wrist.
Date/no-date wasn't an issue with me. I have a date, but after I while now, I don't even notice it's there. Maybe that will hold true for you too.

congratulations! good choice.

as others have said, the so-called blue lume can look green depending on the charge & type of light. no worries.

Nice. 2 year wait for a new 114060?! Holy smokes that's a long wait. And It does have the blue lume sir. It does look slightly green but compared to let's say a 14060m the difference is quite apparent...I'm with you on the cyclops. Never been a fan of it but as you stated, getting it swapped out shouldn't be an issue, however unless you know of a good independent watchmaker in your neck of the woods don't bank on Rolex swapping it out bc I'm pretty sure they will not as it isn't a SD and it came with the cyclops from factory. Congrats on the new piece..classic
