Marc, I enjoyed the Ridge Estate best, I have one more bottle, I didn't like the Frogs Leap, I thought it was quite sharp, but I certainly am not an expert. The Marimarwas on offer so I bought 6 bottles, it is very nice.

I previously saw that you had enjoyed a Ridge Estate (Not Chardonnay) bottle before, it was a distinctive bottle and name so I remembered it, as I was browsing, I saw some for sale from a Vintners in North London so sent for them. Thank you Marc.

Not surprised at all Dave, Ridge makes great wine, and I knew my pick before I asked you but didn't want to sway you LOL.

Congrats on your move.
A fine choice with which to celebrate.
A good vintage of a very distinguished wine.
Hope you enjoyed it.

Icon7 A Toast to HISTORY!

The Perfect Wine to toast an Historic Night!

2016 Prisoner Dérangé
https://www.theprisonerwinecompany.com/derange

I Recommend this wine Highly!

In the late spring of 2016, all 2015 TPWC lots were evaluated for character. The most concentrated and delicious lots of each variety were selected for the first vintage of Dérangé. After lot selection, all barrels destined for Dérangé were hand-selected by tasting each and every one. This red blend is full of black cherry, clove spice, blackberry cobbler, and vanilla toast. The mouthfeel is full on the entry and the soft tannins and balanced acidity are a delicious combo.

VARIETAL COMPOSITION:
Cabernet Sauvignon – Provides structure, density, black cherry
Petite Sirah – Richness, mid palate, concentration
Merlot – Blackberry cobbler, juiciness, acidity
Syrah – Violet, spice, earthiness, depth
Zinfandel – Glue bringing varietals together, softness, red cherry

The End 45

It’s funny that you wrote this up! Your description checked just about all the boxes for me and it’s been on my mind since. I walk into Costco today and what do I find? A handful of bottles sitting next to one of my favorites. Price was $85.99!

Needless to say, I’ll be trying a bottle in the near future! Happy holidays!

Not a Chardonnay fan, but Beringer has some nice reds.

Just picked up a 17 AH for the wife to enjoy during NYE with guests. She recently loved the 17 caymus we had so curious if this will also be a new favorite. Will report back

I think you mean "fushenchups" Jesse.

TWR sounds good. (had a look at their website) I love delicate Rieslings that don't try to burn my delicate stomach out with acid.
I'll have a look in my local and see if they have any TWR wines (probably not as they are a small producer)
I have had a variety of Marlborough wines over the decades, not just the Pinots - which are so good from this Region.
I'm particularly fond of Gewurztraminers, which you don't see much these days.

Hahaha I stand corrected!
Hey mate, you're far away from the OZ fires are you?
Sad to hear that the Sydney Fireworks may be cancelled in light of the fires.
I will be visiting some friends in the Gold Coast next year.
Happy New Year!

Yes - thanks for asking - we are in Regional Queensland and had our fire-scare several months ago when the bushfires were at the end of the street but without the strong winds to make them unmanageable. Had the water bombers going over all day.
Sydney fireworks will go ahead. Not a fan - consider them a waste of money that should have gone to Rural Fire Services all around the country. Bah Humbug! (bit late, I guess)
I visited the Gold Coast once - that was enough to last a lifetime. Yeah, old and boring, I know. Have a great holiday. Happy New Year!
