Goodbye

Thank you all, I've had a nice time here at the forum, but unfortunately I feel it's time for me to leave.
A member here was so ethical to tell my boss "everybody here knows were I work", so I don't think it's a good idea to stick around any longer.
I wish you all the best and some beautiful time-pieces to add to your collections!

Take care.

Vanessa

I enjoy your posts and expertise so I'm sad to see you go, especially under these circumstances. I know many will more eloquently implore you to stay but I wish you would reconsider. I do, however, respect and understand your decision.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what that means either. Regardless, my (our) best and take care Vanessa...

As long as there is no 'sharing Rolex secrets' involved I do not see any harm in Rolex watch makers getting onto forums but that is just me.
Too bad, forums always need watch makers.

Spijtig, hopelijk zien we je ooit weer, veel succes nog met je werk.

Yes, that's exactly what happened, and just to prevent myself from getting into real trouble, I feel I have to go. Sorry, thank you all for your support. I'll check my PM's occasionally...

Dank u Timebroker, het zal wel allemaal op z'n pootjes terecht komen! Bedankt voor de steun!

Vanessa,

I'm sorry to hear that you're leaving. Your Rolex expertise and experience will be missed. Does your boss see your activity here as a conflict of interest?

best regards,

Al

Same here, we will miss your expertise. Why somebody would do something like that escapes me. Sorry to see you go Vanessa, all the best to you.

I hate to see you go too. You've always been a fountain of information on subjscts we just have no way of knowing about. I'd hate to see you get into a mess at work. That'd suck and all you were doing is promoting the hobby....

I was talking with an out of town AD recently, and he was a really nice guy. He begged me to please not mention his shop on any internet forum nor to refer him any business in a public manner. He said it was ok to send friends who wanted to look at jewelry, but not to send droves of hardcore Rolex fans by disclosing details of any deals...could cause him big problems I think Rolex is very stringent about publicity, even though this forum is read only by a select handful of people (globally speaking). I realize that most retailers are kinda FOS, but this was ringing true for some reason.

We'll miss you Vanessa.

That's really too bad...but why would your boss mind? It's sorta work related. I've scanned most of your post and very few are posted during regular business hours. Just curious.

That was sad Vanessa. I believe maybe you should PM the
facts about the member to one of the admins.
In my opinion so should we don´t have that kind of members
here that try to stop members to post some very valuable info.

I´m really sorry to see you go, but I can understand your decision.

I think you should name the member to a mod or directly to Steve and let justice be done with that member. It looks like a good case to me! I certainly don't want to think that someone with such a lack of moral fortitude and prudence is a member of this board.

I think whoever did it should explain themselves to everyone here. I don't know why someone would do that, why, maybe there is some other reason or motive.

Agreed, Steve. But based upon past experience, I will NOT be holding my breath, waiting for this person to step forward. Anyone who shows such a lack of sensitivity and common decency will not have the guts to do the right thing. Sad, really.

Whoever did it might as well identify themselve now, because he will ultimately be identified. It might just have been a mistake and he might have an explanation. If not then one can only conclude there must have been a more untoward intention possibly aimed at the forum.

That sucks. Some loose lipped (or worse) individual steals a valuable friend and resource from us.

You will be missed for both your knowledge and your kindness.
