All I know is I might have to stop following that O guy on IG because as correct as he may turn out to be he's obsessed with this topic and posts about it 8 times a day.

I think the Italian dealer actually caused all this attention to the negative aspects of this insert. Had he ignored the OP it probably would have been a one day kerfuffle and quickly faded from view but his panicked, irrational, desperate defense of them brought out every problem since day one and kept the internet in an uproar for weeks!
If anyone destroyed the market on Blueberries it was him. |

there are lots of mysteries.........and therefore lots to discuss.....Tudor Red Rangers & 5500 Explorers spring to mind.......the lack of facts and the associated conjecture make the hobby interesting.....and worthy of discussion. But its not worth falling out over.

If I created an online petition asking Rolex to address this issue in non-ambiguous terms, would you folks be interested in signing it?

I don't see any of the dealers that have sold more than 10 say anything., let alone validate the "authenticity" of these bezels.

Why is a watch with one of these inserts known as a "Blueberry"? Shouldn't it be known as a "Frankenberry"?
Is it because doing so would do blemish a genuine product of the same name? Sure, it may be a sugar-bomb breakfast cereal, but at least there's no doubt every box of Franenberry was shipped as manufactured from a General Mills factory. Whereas Pepsi and Coke probably don't mind their names being used to describe genuine Rolex products, GenMills might not want a verifiable product of theirs associated with an item that's very origins are far more dubious than the nutritional value of their cereal. If "Blueberry" GMTs sell for 40K USD, does that mean I can sift the raisins out of Raisin Bran, replace them with bits of dried mango chopped-up in a non-Kellog's kitchen under mysterious circumstances for reasons nobody knows for certain but rumors of prototype cereals and/or special issue for the Leichtensteinian Navy abound, and resell it for $100 per box? |
