Help identifying Datejust (fake?)

Hi

I found a local listing on a datejust said to be a 2002 model. My experience an knowledge about the Datejust line is very poor. Can someone please help me out. Here are some pictures from the listing.

Does anybody know the ref number on this particular model? Can it be a fake? Does the boxes look too old to be a 2002 model?

Thanks

Looks like a 116234 model with the original jubillee band replaced, however I don't think it is authentic, but I could be wrong, I can't tell from the pictures. As for the boxes, I'm not sure.

Really hard to tell from these pictures but it appears to have an acrylic/plastic crystal which would make it definitely older than 2002. I would say possibly older than 1986/87 which is indicated on the calendar. You need to do some more digging on this OP

OP, as an opinion, this watch has been modified to look like a 116234.

Details of interest are that (1) based on the stick markers, the dial is for a 116234, and (2) based on the lugs, the case is not a 116234 but a 16234 or 16014, and (3) based on the crystal, the case is probably a 16014 (about 1977 to 1986).

Folks with more experience are free to correct me.
