Icon4 Celebration OP for wife dilemma

AD can only give my wife a celebration 31 this time despite calling me ”VIP” customer. Should I take it(ready for pick up) or keep begging for a 36?

Welcome to the forum. If she wants it, pick it up. I wouldn't compromise at this point.

If she really wants the 36mm you might not want to get the 31mm especially if it’s for a special occasion. She shouldn’t have to “settle”. I’ve done that in the past and to see the disappointment in her face was heartbreaking.

If she wants 36mm, I'd wait for the 36mm.

I’m a believer in holding out for what you really want. I’ve come to adopt the belief I’d rather go without than to settle and always look at my wrist in subtle dissappintment.

No, don't buy the 31. It'll remind both of you how you're really not a VIP every time you wear it.

I’d recommend buying what you really want otherwise it will always be a reminder of what could have been

as others have said, i wouldn't take the 31. even though it could fit, it's not what she wants and it wears much smaller than the 36

Generally speaking, a customer with a long and significant purchase history with that specific store where management may be more inclined to give them special consideration of some sort as an appreciation of their business.

VIP can also be used in service industries as well, like a restaurant or bar. For example; I frequent a neighborhood restaurant often and on many visits they get me a table before others and/or give me a complimentary drink….or two.

If she doesn’t like to wear 31 mm Rolexes, don’t compromise. I wouldn’t buy that, because I prefer 36 also. I would suggest that if you are considered a VIP, just buy it from one of our trusted sellers here, and she will have it on her wrist, by Monday. Welcome to the forum.

They told me the 36 and 41s already have customers name on them and that the 31 mm has mine on it. I have gotten SS daytona from them and 2 other rare watches, so I am confused too...

Don’t settle. If your wife wants the 36mm then wait.

Larger watches (36-40mm) have been the trend for ladies for a while now… not sure if this will last… personally I think 31mm is a good size for ladies but again it all depends on the wrist size etc.

I remember I had a 48mm Breitling diamond bezel Super Avenger. It was huge and chunking based on the trend at the a time and I love it. Put it this way… I no longer have the watch anymore. lol

Well I would have thought that all customers in any business are very important to persons, as without any customers they would have no business.

Another option is to get the 31, see how you like it, if not, trade it on the grey market for a 36.

Generally, it's a customer that reeks of importance, that the AD jerks around for fun.

For whatever reason, my SA whom I trust says Celebrations in 36 and 41 are in short supply. Ask your wife if she wants the 31, if she says no, keep waiting but it may be a long time.

That's what my store said too, do you know if they get more 31 then or are the 31 also short in supply?

My store says the 36 and 41s already have allocation with names on them and that the 31 for me has my name on it.

Celebration OP for wife dilemma

One of our trusted Sellers, OCRolexGuy, has 2 36 mm Celebration dial OP’s for sale, both listed as “new”. Price is double MSRP plus tax, but you might be able to negotiate a slightly lower price. If she wants it, and you can easily afford it, you can have it within a day or 2. I know they are very rare. My own AD has never seen one. I know this, because I’m on the list for one, myself. I have no skin in the game, just trying to be helpful. None of the other trusted sellers have the 36, but if you want a matching 41 mm, one of them has one, for an insane price.

The problem is that they really are rare. The ADs might get one of each size per year. This is per the Asst. Mgr. of my AD, in NorCal. His company owns 3 ADs, and they haven’t seen any yet. Maybe the Boutiques get a few more.

The celebration dial is unfortunately a unicorn. The 31mm can definitely fit a slender wrist. If she can try it, I would go for it.

Also I think there are enough normal OP with aftermarket celebration dial that I would not want to buy unless it's from AD.
