Oyserflex & Sunscreen

Sunscreen seems to eat anything rubber & plastic. Some
worse than others.

Does anyone have any experience of how the Oysterflex holds up?

That’s a great question. I’m interested to hear what others who use sunscreen frequently have experienced. Maybe golfers or fishermen? I usually wear a nato or bracelet and am a bit cautious about spraying the watch directly, but after that, I enjoy my day without concern. I do have an omega 2254.50 on an OEM rubber band, but don’t really wear it that often. My guess is that if you clean it with soap and water you’re probably going to go.

I'm sure Rolex tested the specific rubber formulation used against materials it would come in contact with including sunscreen. This would reveal any issues.

Rubber is generally pretty "crap" resistant. Where have the soles of your shoes been?

Haven't had any issues with sunscreen and my P39 OEM rubber strap. I imagine the OF is as robust as the Tudor rubber, if not more so.

I think sunscreen is relatively safe, bug repellent compounds maybe more of an issue.

Wore my YG 42mm YM on Oysterflex last year in Hawaii for two straight weeks... sunscreen (reef safe) and salt water had zero effect on the rubber. It's a great strap.

I had the same watch and wore in Greece for two weeks straight last summer. Daily sunscreen and salt water and just washed off in the sink each night with hand soap and water. Once back home, gave it a better cleaning with a brush. Looked as-new.
