Just a quick update:
I went to another Ford dealership and the guy there treated me really nice. He didn't have what I wanted in the dealership so he tried looking for my car around the area and found one with 300 miles on it (which I thought is excessive for a brand new car). I decided to purchase a new factory made car through that ford dealership. I never wanted a Mustang to begin with but the service that guy gave me was good and the test drive opened me up to the idea of owning a Mustang GT instead of a Camaro. In 25 days I should get my car. Next purchase: Rolex Speedmaster (this is a joke regarding the mistake from my OP)

Salesmanship is going fast. The internet has changed our business so much it's not even funny. Markup on vehicles is gone, and everybody operates on volume.
Markup on my vehicles are typically .5% to 3% max. Not much profit to be made unless you can push a lot of volume. To get good friendly customer service you'll be limited to small-town country stores. I on the other hand change it up. I provide truly exceptional customer service to every client no matter the circumstance. I consider myself "on call" for every past and potential customer 24/7, and provide any and all information one can desire to help make the next step in your process. I also personally deliver vehicles and paperwork to customers, explain every feature/function to everybody, and will do it as many times as necessary. I also frequently pick clients up from the airport, and basically do whatever else can be done. The vast majority of my customers are referrals and customer who prefer to do business over the internet. The source of business does not matter, I try to make my transactions the simplest, easiest, happiest auto-buying experience in history. It does make it a touch simpler as have a deep rooted passion for Toyota, especially their offroad capability and history. |

It doesn't help that I would bust my butt helping someone out only to have them make a call (or go online) and drive to the dealer across town to save $40. Im so glad I was able to take what I learned from that industry and build a career as a salesman in a very different industry. |

I have a job and I don't stalk the forum. I'm important. Clearly you have all the time in the world to post on TRF. Maybe you should get a job? Your reference to my post being "basic" or "sub-par" based on the number of posts I have submitted reflects poorly on you. Have a nice day, gentleman...

They would churn through new salespeople monthly. People would start to do the math on how little they were making and eventually find something else. I managed to earn a full-scholarship to graduate school so I went that route and left the car business behind. |

Oh!! Sorry...I wasn't aware you were important until you told me so! That clarifies things a bit. Not that my employment has anything to do with this...but I do have a job which I dedicate over 50 hours a week of my time to. Maybe someday I can achieve the status of important like you have.
